What happens when the dealership can't fix my Camaro?

I've been going back and forth to the dealer for the last two months with the same issue, I literally dropped it off and picked it up 5 times for the same problem ending with the same result, limp mode and check engine light. The dealer has reached out to GM and had a few different technicians work on it but they can't seem to figure out why it keeps going in limp mode. I'm curious whats the next step, I just got off the phone with the service rep who os gonna call me Monday after he speaks with his boss. He said they don't know whats wrong with the camaro. And all this is after they installed a new block due to a bad oiling issue.

Lemon Law. Look into it. Talk about a buy-back, also.

As already stated, lemon law. Several years ago, my sister, who lives in California, bought a new Dodge truck that would die for no reason at any time, to include at freeway speeds. Long story short, after a year of constantly taking it to the dealer & them not finding/fixing the issue she got her full purchase price back plus all taxes, registration & other fees ...good luck resolving the issue

As others have said, you are in CA and this should qualify as a lemon. As a former Mfg rep for BMW, we would buy the car back after 3 unsuccessful repair attempts.

The Better Business Bureau is where you initiate a "lemon law" action, if you don't want to go thru a personal attorney. Basically, you file a case, an arbitrator contacts you for an interview. They set a date for a hearing where you and the company rep present your cases. The arbitrator has established rules which they follow for the finding. I believe the findings are binding for GM, but not you .

Had the same problem as you. Took my car in 5 times as it kept going into rip. They wouldn't listen when it told them it only happened when I turned left. Finally I bought an throttle body extension, cut the throttle body wiring harness
Wired the new one in and never had the problem again. When ever you would jump on the throttle while turning left it was pulling on the plug at the throttle body. Can't say that will fix your issue but the dealer ships kept trying throttle bodies and flashing the computer and that didn't work at all

Being your Camaro is 12 you must have a extended warranty covering the thing? Replacing the block from a oiling issue is so super bad, that means its starved the top end as well and everything from the timing chain on back most likely and just a block is not the best repair. It would with oiling problem have hurt lifters, pistons rings, bores bearings, rockers, pushrods, springs, timing chain, valves, etc etc.....

And engine problems could have hurt the cats, warped the heads, etc..... Sure it may be a gremlin now but can you trust them....Most likely not, and that's why you and all owners should save every scrap of paper and every repair attempt made can contribute to your being able to lemon law the car out if you have too......... And oiling problem to me would have meant new crate engine. Good Luck

Lemon Law. Brought my wife's car in a few years ago. Check engine light stayed on. Third time I told the mechanic's boss If it comes back again Lemon Law. Just saying to them her car had no more issue. They had to contact another mechanic for help. And it hot fixed.

Good point. Just because this dealership doesn't have the solution doesn't mean there isn't one out there. Although, with warranty service, it is their job to find it, not yours. If they're not working hard enough to find it, then lemon it.

My sister had the same thing with a Jeep. Bypass the dealership and talk directly to their regions rep
