F the fleet sale stories. It's lube for the stockholders.
F the price. Although it is higher, dealers are offing them a LOT cheaper than MSRP.
F the chassis change. It's actually better than the Gen5.

People simply do NOT like the body style changes. That's it. Nothing more to say. Even if it was the price, if they liked the body, they'd pay it.

Move along now.... nothing more to see here.

Inflation is one thing, a massive increase is another. My 2011 2SS stickered for ~44-45k. The same exact car in a 2016 model, stickers for ~$53k. Most won't be able to justify that much of a jump in price. Price is playing a huge factor, as well as the appearance. Also, think of the people that are not loyal to GM. A brand new Challenger Scat Pack can be bought for ~$40-41k. The same can be said about a Mustang GT from Ford. It's like '02 all over again. GM priced themselves out of the market and ultimately, out of the pony car wars.

This right here is why I'm not buying one.

http://www.hoselton.com/new/Chevrole...0d28159449.htm

Why on earth does a base model, 4cyl, automatic, with no external options or interior tech cost $30k. And with the huge drop in 5th Gen value there's no trade-in value either to cut that cost. And if you want a V6 base model its 4k more? I mean for $34k I could buy a 5th Gen SS and have enough money left over to supercharge it.

this is why i bought my certified used 2015 RS.i paid a whole bunch less than i would have for the base 2016 and got the 6 cylinder, leather interior, mylink, etc. with it,plus the previous owner ate about 10,000 bucks worth of depreciation...

Aren't Corvette sales suffering also? I think they were down roughly the same amount.

Hopefully this gets fixed so GM doesn't lose either car anytime in the near future

Strange... I dislike the front with a passion. The lower opening looks like the mouth on a baleen whale. The upper opening and lower opening are so different in size. YUCK!

I absolutely love the lower opening. I think the rounded lower openings on either side of it are awful. I also don't like the headlight treatment.

I read an article yesterday listing the 10 new cars that depreciate the most in
their first year. The new Camaro was right up there at 39% depreciation from
MSRP. This alone will keep me from buying a new Camaro.
They stated there are two main reasons for this:

1) The popularity of the new Mustang.
2) People are not liking the new 6th gen styling.

Please post the link. I'm not doubting you, I simply wish to read the article.
I also wonder if the failed 6th generation will stabilize 5th generation prices.

Just tried to find it but can't. If you google "depreciating cars" there's sure enough
articles on this but again I can't locate the one I saw here a couple days ago.
I did see on a couple lists and the Impala was right up there along with many of the
electric cars. If I find it i'll let you know.

Thats because in 3months they will be considered used, and currently like mentioned above the depreciation in the first year is 39%
