New Member Intro

Hi All,

If you haven't heard of us, Hotchkis is a sport suspension manufacturer based in Santa Fe Springs, California. The company was founded by former racecar driver John Hotchkis in 1993, and our primary business is engineering and building high-performance bolt-on suspension parts for muscle cars.

The company philosophy is to design bolt-on suspension parts for GM muscle cars that are easy to install, don't require major modifications, and provide sports car handling. We engineer and track test every new part we produce before we make it available to the GM community. We truly believe that our products can make the experience of owning a Camaro even better, and we want to be here to answer questions and get your feedback.

If you have questions regarding suspension setup, tech, or products, even new product suggestions or gripes, just let me know. If I can't get you the answer, I'll find an engineer or fabricator who can. We'll also be periodically offering deals on here, and every once and a while we'll need a car for R&D that will end up with some new parts once we're done.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I hope to have some good conversations on here in the future.

Hmmm....hard to believe someone would be into cars and not heard of Hotchkis. Guess it's possible.

I've got a question....when will you have some lowering springs available for the 2010 SS Camaro? Also, how low can we expect them to drop the car (at least 1.5" I hope)?

I've got Hotchkis on my '69. LOVE THEM! It's funny...more than once I've had people ask me if my car is bagged. Nope...just good ole Hotchkis for ya!

Can't wait to see your products for the new Camaro.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. We really like the site and we're happy to be here. We're not here to push parts, we really want to be a part of the community, get feedback, and offer help/advice to anyone with tech questions.

Caverman, We have two different 2010 springs in the works, one for 6 cyl and one for SS. Right now for the SS, it looks like it will drop the car about 1-inch and maintain a comfortable ride. Do you think it should go lower than that? Springs are about a month out.

Stang Killer, thank you for the order. We think you'll be really pleased with the sway bars. We certainly had a great time testing the R&D car in the canyons.

Maybe you can make an option. I think Eibach use to do that. Street version was 1", Sport version was like 1.4".

Personally I like as low as I can go without scrapping if possible. I like the looks of StreetKings Camaro (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39621). He had the H&R at the time and according to their site there are 1.4"/1.3".

Like colors of the car it's all personal taste. Most people wouldn't drive their '69 as low as I have but I love it that way. If you look close at the picture of the front wheel you can see where I've crushed the header a few times and had to remove and have a section added. I've repaired them 3 different times. Last time I had him weld me a a make shift skid plate on it. Yes...I give up a little comfort but the look is un-deniable.
