Any opinions on what I can do to improve this?

Belt sander, high speed, 40 grit garnet.

No, don't... have you tried rubbing compounds or waxing with a buffer? It's hard to tell from the pic... it almost just looks like a piece of Scotch tape that's been on there for a year.

Whatever the case, I don't think that touch- up paint is going to help... at least not the kind out of the little bottle, with the brush inside. That touch- up paint suffices for deep chips, but never ever ever looks smooth and flawless.

Put a decal over it......or go to the body shop and see if they have any cheap touch up service air brushing or something. Or maybe see if they would Air brush a Logo over the scrape.... or a flame or..whatever its going to cover it a friggin black dragon, a tattoo for the car...That's my idea a sticker..LOL

Touch up on bright colors like that always stands out and looks like crap. I work at a dealer and speak from experience.

The plastic is gouged. You might try an Exacto knife with a flat blade to remove the high spots. Get it close and some light sanding to finish.

There must be better answers in the Body section of this forum.

Did someone put masking tape around the scrape on the bumper and paint inside the tape border ... and then they pulled the masking tape off leaving the raised ridge at the margins?

First thing is to get 180 or 220 grit and sand the scratch and only the scratch. Not to bare metal! Then come back with 320 to feather edge it. Clean it from dust and paint the scratch. Let it dry. Sand it down with 180 or 220 if it's too thick. Then come back with 320 grit. Take clear coat and paint strokes over the paint. Let it dry. Make sure you don't put it on too thick though. Then come back and west sand the area. You may have to add clear on the actual clear around the scratch as well. That should mask somewhat the color difference. I think that's the reason why the touch paint is so obvious when you just touch up an area. Cause there's no clear coat over it?

Dent/Paint Wizard guys can fix that. It will still be noticeable if you go looking for it, but not very.

Hard to tell but looks like a scratch filled in with touchup paint. I would try wet sanding with a 1000+ grit and see if it sufficiently feathers out. If so then move up to 2000+ grit and use your favorite compound and polish to finish it off and see where it ends up. Its on a ridge so be light with whatever you use. Not going to be perfect but small investment in materials to try before calling one of the mobile bumper repair techs.
