1) No more group back to back runs. This means we can only do one run at noon. Fortunately, it will still be separate from the mom & pops minivan group.
2) No more $15 discount for 10 or more cars. Fortunately, they love us Camaro guys so they are going to give us that rate anyway, for the guys who need tickets.

Also, NASA is racing for their Eastern States Championships that weekend. There's a good chance they'll run over so anyone doing 5:00 laps might be delayed.

One positive note, Art WILL be driving the pace car. So all is not lost.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate. No need to go to the store downtown.

Check the list below and confirm your participation based on this update. They have to print the $15 tickets for us and need to know about how many to print. If you need to buy a ticket specify 1 or 2 (for noon and/or 5:00). If you have a ticket from your 3rd set from Opening Weekend let me know that, too.

Anybody doing the last Sylvan Beach night on the 29th? Maybe I'll see if I can round up Hiney and Redd Hot for a road trip.

I'll be doing it. We haven't had to much interest from people this year. Everyone seems to be very busy.

So she's bringing the Tesla? Not using autopilot is she? If so, I want to make sure I'm behind her, lol.

So in other news, drag racing at NYIRP went ok Friday night. MOMs was competing (Mustang on Mustang) so it was far more challenging to get a bunch of runs than it usually is - only was able to get 4 passes all evening. Usually, I can get my fill when I'm there, I know I made 8+ passes on my last trip.

This was the final run, and the only one in the 12's. 60'ing this heavy beast with such a long first gear on crappy street tires proved to be really challenging. Started to figure out that the only really method for success is to really work the clutch. If I could cut a 1.8s on some better tires maybe she'd give me that sub 12.50 pass I'd really like to see.

But she MPH'd 110+ on every pass even with what feels like to me as really some really slow shifting. Just can't get ahead of the clutch or she'll grind you every time. I can't wait for the IdealGarage master cylinder! I know there is 1-2mph to make up there. 25mph pick up on the back - she's pulling nice and strong!

Here is the video:

good run man. You're so right about tires. A set of mickey thompson drag radials will make a world of difference. I need to get down there one more time this season.

Yea, no kidding. Third is only good for 107mph at fuel cut - so definitely have to make the shift, but it's lame. 3.91's would put me at 5100 in 4th through the beams, and definitely make the launch a lot easier. Definitely considering them for a spring project.

Let me know when you're thinking - I'm definitely considering a few more attempts - I know with 24psi in the rears I should find a little more bite. Would be fun to meet up.
