That's when I had ordered mine. I ordered in March and it came in mid June!

Well, I understand what your saying. I am ordering end of November, so I hope it won't come in until mid to late February. If it has to sit in the garage for a month or two so be it. I can walk to work, live only 1/2 mile from it. Or I can borrow my son's car. The other reason is that my lease is up in February and I want to use my Tax Return as some of the down payment.

I live in Michigan and old girl will be going into storage for 6 months. I did get to drive her for 4 months though.

I owuldn't have any qualms of waiting another 2 weeks and have a month to drive and look at her in the garage...Makes that cabin fever much more bearable.

I will be paying on the car while in storage for 6 months...You can dump collision from your insurance which for me resulted in a $32 a month reducton in insurance.

Why don't you look in Chevy Database for your car...There are 16 rally yellow 2SS/RS within 150 miles of me in Southgate.

Just a thought...

The point of the car for me was going to be nothing more than a dry day summer toy, most likely weekends. After giving it a great deal of thought, I could not see the logic in taking the car this late in the year only to be putting it in storage a couple of weeks later (I live in Michigan), making car payments, and paying car insurance. The only benefit I could see taking it now would be the ability to gaze at it in the garage. As much as I wanted to have it this year to do just that, gaze at it, I could not justify it. Needless to say, it is going to be a long 6 months waiting to re-order it again in mid February. I figure this will give me time to save more of a down payment before it arrives late March early April. Looks like I will be joining you guys, but just a little later than I had originally planned.

I know how you feel its frustrating, been waiting 4 months now.
I thought the exact same thing why pay $1200 or so in insurance to see it sit for 6 months also if my car gets here after it snows I got to pay for a flatbed to pick it up.
However I decided not to cancel it, I have mods I want to do to it.... ground effects, supercharger and rims...etc so I have decided to make this my winter project. Luckily I have an old barn i`ve converted into a shop, without this thou I would have canceled it and reorder in January.

So, i understand your decision and good for you! It will be so worth it.
i am sorry they have treated you so poorly. I am not taking my car back for oil changes or any other aftermarket work just because they have been total a$$holes about your allocation/deposit problems.....got your back CamChick

I was in a similar boat, but with the USAA discount currently scheduled to expire in December, and with the possiblity of future price increases, I decided to order now. So far it's going okay. TPW next week. With luck, I'll have all October and November to drive. As for winter/snow- my 2000 SS sat in the garage every winter too. I guess I'm used to it.

Acording to the sales person they are the top selling camaro dealer in Michigan so they get high allowcation.
Thats fine and all but i still wouldnt wait till next year. The other reason is i wouldnt be surprised if they increase the price of this car several thousand next year as well GM has done this several times in the past some of our respected dealers on this site have warned us dont be surprised if it happens.

Very true on both points you make; however, I figure if I can postpone the inevitable for a year...why not?

According to the dealer, there will be a slight price increae. As of now I was told it will be around $300 or so. This is primarily do to the rear park assist. As for several thousand, I don't see anything coming close to that. Your approching a c6 already with all the goods.
