The transmission issues really didn't show up till that stock line blew off. I think it shifts fine when the fluid is cool, but it heats up fast with that huge stall. I also screwed up, B&M recommends the 30k BTU cooler with a 3500+ stall, I never upgraded when I did my stall. The cooler I'm using is the one from way before.

Also found out the reason my engine was making noise, I had my laptop plugged into my meth controller and it crashed it, so I did one pull with no meth. The engine pulled 12 degrees of timing and had to add a lot of fuel. It put the car in limp mode, running better now.

Set the car up to shift at 6700 RPM, it actually didn't do that badly, only cost me a tenth of a second on acceleration, but prevented the belt from slipping. In 70 degree weather, it is running 2 PSI more boost than my 11.7 run at the same RPM that was in the same weather.

Tomorrow the temp will be above 80 degrees until 10 p.m., so not great racing weather. Next Friday though, 75 high right now, so it will be mid-60's during race time, good cold air for more power.

Right now 2nd-3rd has a flare, it is bad enough that the ECU shuts the throttle partially to get the torque down. I'm going to work on fixing that next week. I need to do some back to back runs and test it on the track, but shifting early with the converter unlocked makes it faster in the next gear for 1-2, 2-3, but in 4th the gear is close enough to 3rd that it wants 3rd to rev out all the way to 7100 then shift to 4th with the converter locked. So shifting early in 2nd gear makes it faster to 90 MPH, but holding onto 3rd till 7100 RPM makes it faster to 110 than shifting it earlier into 4th.

Going to go to the track tomorrow in my 5.0 to help Jatzen out. I also want to see if headers really helped my 5.0 out, its only mods now are headers and my tuning. I took the Boss 302 intake manifold and Steeda CAI off.

I am curious what you will be messing with to prevent the throttle from closing itself. I am getting it through the entire rpm range from every gear after 2nd.

LFX is known to do that, mine is a LLT and the trans is commanding it. Trying to put twice the power the trans can hold through it, have to get it to transfer the inertia right.

At the track and saw Jantzen run, got some work to do. Time to break out the nitromethane.

His car broke a record by a lot, so I have a lot of work to do to get mine down there.

5.0 did terrible, heavy knock retard when on Monday it wasn't there. Something is either rattling and causing false knock, or my normal gas station got bad gas which is worse because I filled my Camaro up.

That happened to me on my last track day. I should have aborted the hour and half drive to the track. Sucks, make all the arrangements and prep then put in bad gas.

Wasn't a completely waste for me, got to test out the track to see how the traction was. It took a lot to just to spin the tires on my little summer tires so I knew it would hook with drag radials. Thunder Valley has improved the traction at the track by so much, it used to be terrible, now it will break parts.

Only thing that sucks though is when me and my wife started going in 2012, we could get 12 runs in by 10 pm, with 30 minute breaks to watch others racing. Now you are lucky to get 3 runs in. A lot more people have started going to Friday TnT after Street Outlaws started.

Huge difference with this cold air, 60 degree weather and the car gained 2 PSI of boost. Running 15 at 6600, could probably hit 18 if I run it to 7000. Feels so much better, time to move to Alaska to keep the power.
