Yes, my radio had a mute wire and the instructions for the PAC unit says to cut the brown loop wire and connect the outer one to the mute wire of the new head unit.

There seems to be a problem with the packing of this system from the factory in leaving the chime module out. I called them and they sent me one.

I'm not an expert on this but if you don't connect to the mute wire of the radio, how will it know to mute during phone calls?

Hi, Dennis,

thank you for sending the picture. I will wait for my kit. Now it's in Vandalia, think, morning it arrives at Dayton and then it will sended to Germany. My friends are waiting for the result, when i have changed it in my 2013 Camaro. After that, my scosche kit is for sale here in Germany. Kit looks great. But i will not connect the wiring for the speakers. I have changed the oem amplifier against a kenwood amplifier and this is connected to the preamp outputs of the DNX7150DAB+. Only the wiring for ground, battery and so one i will connect to the interface. Hope, that will work. Hope, at end of next week i can give here the result.

Thanks
Egbert

You may be correct. The ability to use certain controls may be a function of the Head unit. PAC provides a list of supported functions for the radios they support and the ability to answer calls seems to be missing from all of them. This list could be a result of the functions supported by both units and perhaps not just one of them.

you dont need the SXV300
Most of you prob have the option to add this for a few bucks a month to your current account from another vehicle.

The unit you are referring needs to have its antenna placed line of site to the satellite, so it needs to be on top of the car. I know this because my XM looses reception every time I drive behind a tree line or mountain. If you place it on the dash you could lose reception every time you turn the car. I don't have any experience with this particular XM receiver so may be talking out of the wrong side. But like I said its an option and may be the best choice for some.

You should be able to use something like this for a lot less. I had my antenna located were the center speaker is now. No issues.

This.

On my previous car, a Saturn Aura, I had the Sirius/XM antenna under the carpeted panel on the rear shelf between the speakers. On my mothers 2002 Tahoe I mounted it under the dash panel next to the ambient light sensor.

Under that center speaker grill is a perfect place on the Camaros. Its even a good spot for a GPS antenna.
