How do I look for a 1LE?
So yeah it's pretty tough to search for a 1LE online without going through nearly every SS and determining if it was has the 1LE on it or not.
Because I've found like two in all of San Antonio, TX and neither of them had "1LE" on it. Some dealerships didn't know how to describe them I guess. But currently in the market for a used 1LE, pref 2013. Any tips on how to find one? |

lol that's what I just said I tried to do brah.
So is that the only way? Otherwise I guess I gotta call dealerships and hope they know what I'm talking about !! (Sounds like a scary task) |

Not all dealerships know what a 1LE is. The fastest way to look for one by the exterior is to look for the black ZL1 wheels and the flat black hood. Those two are on all 1LE's, unless the previous owner changed them. To go in farther detail you will need to see pics of the inside as well to make sure someone didn't take a non-1LE SS and put those two things on it.

Id say that it is fair to say that most dealerships have no clue what you are talking about, I wouldn't bother wasting time talking to sales people. To find what you want online, put in the search preferences, V8, and manual tranny.That is about the best you will be able to do. Ive been exactly where you are. Good luck!

A competent dealer should be able to search for all inventory with the 1LE product code.
When I got my 2015 it was only one of 4 in the western US. Good luck. |

1LE's were available as a 1SS or 2SS in 5th gen models and 1SS in 6th Gen models (yea I went there~)
Do a Nationwide vehicle search with Cargurus, Cars.com, CarMAX, etc with the following search parameters;
To ensure the vehicle you are looking at is a 1LE, make sure it has;
VIN# WILL be one of the following for 2013:
The reseller most likely screwed the original owner out of the 1LE option or doesn't even know it's a 1LE and has it priced as a standard V8. If you run across a "standard V8 Camaro" priced as a standard V8, do not say anything about it being a 1LE. I can guarantee the price will immediately be adjusted or the vehicle will 'magically become unavailable' Before you buy the car, have someone (other than the seller, duh) run the VIN# and obtain the original LPO codes for you - it absolutely must come back with the "1LE package" option or it's a fake car Good luck in your hunt, there are roughly 25 for sale nation wide at the moment.

Doesn't exist in the VIN. Might be a GM LPO optioned search parameter, but there is no such reservation or option outside of GM, if it even exists.

I'd say it's 50/50 a dealer would know what the option is, like stated put man trans in search criteria and visually look for red calipers as the older these get some prior owners take the hood wrap off. You can't tell from the VIN ,but depending on the year if the 5th character is an "S,J, or G" that's a good sign. If you can get a pic of the drivers side underhood the steering shaft is white , same as Z/28, ZL1's

The NPP dual mode exhaust is not standard on the 1LE, it's optional. If you find a car you like have the dealer send you a picture of the build/option sticker located in the trunk. It is the only way to be sure the car is a 1LE even if it has the cosmetic features.

Snoman you are 100% wrong I own a 1LE, NPP is like an $895 option on all SS models. If you look on the ZL1 registry it has all the standard equipment & options listed. When I was looking for mine I saw several without NPP.
