We run Amsoil Dominator in my car, it hasn't blown up yet.

Amsoil Signature is what I run in my SS. I've heard that in recent years Mobil 1 has changed their formula and they are not as good as they once were. I read that they use less zinc to meet environmental standards or something like that. I was surprised to hear that since I've been using that oil religiously for over 5 years on multiple cars.

I remember reading about oils in another post. Here's the link in there about oil. Enjoy the light reading, haha.

Here's the other thread on oil in case you want more to read.

I've been using the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30 after reading the section about oils comparisons from Bob the Oil Guy. I was raised on Castrol oil and I've never had engine issues during my decades of use and I put a lot of miles on my vehicles, usually in excess of 200k.

I've used Mobil 1 Dexos in the car during my free oil services which is a good semi synthetic blend and I've used Red Line oil previously in my BMW back in the day with great results but it's harder to get and is more expensive since I've been using Amazon and Walmart for oil purchase.

$25-$28 per 5 quart jug and Pep Boys sometimes will run a special on oil also.

Track only race oil that doesn't have additive detergents, WOW.Be careful. Aside from what I wrote I use Amsoil 10w30 Dominator at the track.

I trust my shop Advanced Modern Performance, far more than I trust this board or any advice I get from the members on it.

SnowyCamaro;

Keep an eye out in the Can Tire flyer.

Mobil One oil and filters go on sale every couple of months where I live. Also I have a look at NAPA auto parts; I just saw a catalogue offering good deals on the oil and filters. From OCT to DEC.

I think oil, if the container is unopened, has a shelf life of about five years. I watch for the sales and pick up my oil and filters in advance.
