So guys, I need some advice. I'm having a dilemma. My friend works at BCBG at Dillard's. And she found out they were hiring and I was interested even though I'm still at Express. So she forwarded my resume to them and I have an interview Saturday morning. What happens if they want me? I'm attached to Express, but the pay would be better at BCBG and they're very flexible with hours. I'm afraid to quit. I don't like disappointing people. I've been with Express since 2014. I feel loyal to them. HALP

More money and flexible hours? That's a win win right their, as long as you are respectful and put in your two weeks they won't be that upset. If they are then they don't know how to deal with employees leaving. Good employees leave great jobs for better pay all the time it's up to you if you want to do it.

Put one foot in front of the other... out the door. Unless they have amazing benefits, great management and is part of your long term career choice. Being loyal to an employer is like deciding which slave owner to work for. LOL. No offense intended to anyone.

it's not just about the pay, it's also about the benefits, pension, etc. Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Vacation Days, and other benefits are very important. Today, an employee has to look at more than the financial, but also is it still on your career path to get you were you want to be?

More money is nice, but what about the working conditions, your boss, your co-workers, location and strength of the company to keep moving forward in todays financial world.

Is $2 an hour more worth it if your boss yells at you daily for no reason and your co-workers think you are crap. That would get old by the second week.

Also, if you think your company loves you and would do anything for you, you need to wake up. There are hundreds of people in the workforce waiting to take your job. I know my HR says they really work for their people, but we all know that is BS. HR is worthless in any company.

Its great that your current employer hired you, and taught you many things. But if you are starting to look other places, maybe it's time to speak to your manager and see where they are wanting you to be in the next year, 2 years, 5 years. About what they see as far as pay increases and what it will take from you to get there. If they truly know, they will have immediate answers. If they ho-hum around a bit and give you a "let me get back with you".... RED FLAG, time to MOVE ALONG.

Business is business. If there was anything any of my bosses have ever taught me, if you are leaving to better yourself... They won't be mad. You can't blame someone for doing something to improve their life in one way or another.

So do it!

BTW....Vicky

if there was only a profession, were you knew a lot of girls, that would assist you in making money on the side. They could perform civic duties for small donations to help fund your many needs.
