Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts. I appreciate it.

I think I'm going to try to find one or two more to test drive in the next few weeks; maybe one will have 93 fuel. Given what I'm hearing, and some numbers I'm crunching here, I'm thinking that going with an SS and doing some performance mods may be the way to go. We'll see how that plan evolves as I learn more and get a little more experience with these cars...

I'll keep an eye in the for-sale forum too. I'm looking for an auto convertible, 2SS, in yellow, so that narrows my resultset down a lot. But maybe something nice will pop up over the winter. I don't really need it until the spring anyway.

I'd grab that '14 SS in a heartbeat if it were me. Obviously if I am pretending to be you then I'd ignore owning a ZL1, but a '14 SS is no slouch. Actually if I were going to go with an SS I would definitely look for one with Recaros, a 6 spd. manual (autos are fine as well), and if its a non-1/LE then I'd look into getting myself a set of OEM ZL1 SSX 10 spoke wheels and the 1/LE front splitter.

I would have NO hesitation in picking up a '14 SS!
