Sounds like you guys may be trying to flash back to E39 instead of E39A. The factory read that you took should flash with no problems.

Bit off topic, but I see he is selling his Autocal. Could buying that then sending it to be untied from him and tied to me save anything or would it be best to just buy one directly from you and start fresh with a new unit?

If you buy an Autocal from a previous customer of mine, it's $300 for the Overkill tuning on your vehicle and a new VIN license for the Autocal. As long as it's originally from Overkill Motorsport, no issues at all if you want to buy a used Autocal

So can I just sell it? Or would you need to untie it first?
Or can I just sell, and they pay 300$ and done deal?

You can just sell it. Your VIN license will remain in the handheld but it won't impede others, there's room for 6 vehicles if I recall right. The buyer would need to contact me afterwards, I'd send them an activation code to be able to license their vehicle, and the process is the same for them as if they bought a new handheld.
