Reverse: Left or Right
Simple, where do you guys prefer the shifter to have reverse... left side or right side?
Right for me, sadly v6 has it on the left

I usually like lower right, but the upper right on the M6 is pretty cool. I had a Mini CooperS with it on the left, man did that suck!

VW's have it where you push the stick down or in then to the left and up...always hated that! i used to work at a VW dealership.
i prefer it on the lower right.

Upper left
My 69 Camaro and my Cuda are both upper left. It will take me awhile to get used to the upper RIGHT, probably put it in first and try to back up...that won't be good!

Thats probably a good point. Ive only driven manual a few times... But if this is my first manual then I should really have too much trouble getting used to it...

Its no big deal honestly. So before it arrived I found out about it being on the left I flipped out I was so scared I would throw it in reverse instead of first at a stop light. I've been driving manuals off and on since I was sixteen (34) now and reverse always on the right. When you go to reverse its on the far left it will beep and a big R comes up on your info screen. Seriously you'd have a hard time getting it wrong.

![]() What about this question, when you let go of the grip and let the stick chill and snap back into neutral, is it below 1st or 3rd? |

Its way out there to the left. When you bring it down into neutral you just bring it slightly to the right and up for 1st and I mean slightly if not you kill it and then you know your in third.
And just let me tell you how awkward that is as your pulling away from the dealership You'll be okay every car is different and remember its brand spankin new so the gears are going to be a little rough at first. Hope this puts your mind at ease.

Niceee thats definitely good to know I was really worried about going to far the left when hitting first but if getting in first requires going to the right... no worries : )
