Swapping 3.91 Diff Out For 3.45??? Direct Swap?

I've got a 2014 1LE. I'm looking to swap my 3.91 gears down to 3.45s. I've got a local guy with a 2011 SS that wants to trade diffs. Do the chunks swap out directly? Or is my 1LE chunk different than the 2011 3.45?

Thanks!

1LE and SS have different half shafts I believe. I don't know what part of them is different, but I am sure there different part numbers. Here are two threads I found, If I am not mistaken, I just scanned them, what you are doing will work.

I know others are thinking it, and I do not mean this is any derogatory way, but what is your reasoning to do this? I admit I am curious.

It's a straight swap, I swapped my 3.45s for 3.91s. You'll have to recalibrate your speedo though.

If OP is going with a turbo setup, it could make sense.

If he was local, you're damn right I'd swap with him.

Yea that's how I got my 3.91s. Straight swap no money exchanged. He needed 3.45s to go with his TT setup

I went to 323's from 345's after my turbo install.

The axles the will work they have the same spline count. I installed a set of 3.91s gears in my 2010 SS along with a set of 1LE axles the difference is the size of the CV joint. If you already have a 1LE its not a problem but when going to SS you have to have a special washer to install the 1LE axles if I remember correctly but again straight out swap the new owner will love the 3.91s

Not to sound rude, but why then did you buy the 1LE? I frankly didn't know anything about the 1LE and it was the 3.91 that convinced me to buy this car in the first place.
