That's great, but that's not very much. I was expecting a much longer list of items. You didn't mention anything about how it drove, so I'm going to assume, not as good as your Camaro.

Now put us a list of things together you like about your Camaro that the Mustang doesn't have. (like HUD, and 8" configurable drivers screen, just to name a few interior goodies).
Damn KM, I normally think your posts are pretty level headed but I read that one as if you were upset someone listed things they thought Mustang did better.

This ^

I try to keep my car clean and what not but I basically end up spending a ton of time in my car and those little things can sometimes make sitting in stop and go traffic for hours a lot more liveable.

True, it was a trick to get in and out of... But once you got back there, it was comfortable. I had an '04 GTO and took it on more than a few road trips with 3 or four ppl in the car. I'm 6' and I rode back many times with both head and leg room to spare.

There's no way in hell I'm fitting in the back seat of a Camaro.

The last GTO's had great back seats in my opinion.

Now, I'm very BIG on the "little" things. I didn't buy the car solely for the engine. I like having a car that surprises you with, "wow they thought about this small feature that makes my experience jus that much better"..

I can honestly say I'm pleasantly surprised in how great the Mustang is, but also, very disappointed on how GM did not copy some of the simple features that a Mustang has.. The few things that the Mustang does right IMO, that GM should have had:

1- The info system can ACTUALLY index your phone correctly. I plug my iPhone into the mustang and can browse my ENTIRE music catalog and playlist perfectly. My Camaro can't do that. Period. It just does NOT work... At all. Playlist don't populate at all, I get duplicate playlist, the list goes on...

2- The Mustang has a hidden storage compartment on the driver side which is a push to open type of compartment. This has been incredible in storing things. Its about the width of a business card and the length of a pen and a half. This little storage compartment has been incredible at putting my keys and few random things in there. We all know how bad the Camaro lacks in the storage and convenience department.. I don't buy that there is no room. GM could and should have added small compartments, even hidden ones, for things such as your keys or wallet or phone. The center dash one is a joke. It gets burning hot in there, the USB cable sits at a very awkward angle that requires your cable to take an immediate 90* turn, thus blocking the entire bottom of the compartment.

3- Seat belt holders. The mustang has those small clips (leather I might add) that hold the seatbelt further down your body. You don't notice how much this makes a difference until you use a car with one. Truly makes driving more comfortable.

4- Very subjective, but........ Manual handbrake... I miss a manual handbrake on my car. I understand why e-brakes are the new thing now, but a manual brake just feels right as well as gives you the vote of confidence that it is on there. I won't lie, more than once I have pulled the e brake tab on my Camaro, only to find out the thing never engaged and my car slowly rolled a bit.

There are some other things here and there, and overall I'm very much in love with my Camaro, but after checking out the competition, I truly can say Ford (at least on their base v6 model) did an incredible job with the little creature comforts things.. I'm not sure where all the hate comes from as far as both groups goes; but, both platforms seem to be a PHENOMENAL choice for anyone wanting an American muscle car.

I'm very content with how GM and Ford are progressing forward. Truly a great time to be alive!
I'll have to look for the little driver side storage compartment on my friends S550's... Never noticed it.

Thanks for the nice write up. I come from Mustang. Great car! Ford did a good job. It's the little things Ford did that I think drives people away from Camaro. The Mustang is also a friendlier look and performer to the average buyer.

But I'm an enthusiast and the 6th Gen Camaro won me over!

This, so much this!

If I had any engineering skill I would try to take one of the center console knee pads (which my knees don't even touch) and turn them into some kind of cell phone holster pocket.

In my less than three weeks of ownership, I'd say the lack of storage, cubbies, change holders, and especially door water bottle holders, are things that I've noticed I miss the most. Should also note that in my VERY limited use of Android Auto I have been less than impressed. I do need to use it more to make it useful I suppose.

Ironically, neither my wife, nor I use this extra little storage space in her 2015 GT convertible

One advantage the Mustang convertible has over the Camaro is trunk space. Our Mustang has plenty of trunk space, but more importantly the trunk is completely segregated from the top. So, we load up the trunk with our luggage on our trips to Destin. Once off the interstate, I simply drop the top. I don't have to pull any separator or cover in the trunk before lowering the top.

I'm with the OP: Love my Camaro, but the Mustang is better at being a car. Cars have trunks that can be easily accessed, their back seats fold down, their front seats lean back far enough to sleep in, they have storage space for things like keys and phones, they can be seen out of, and they have more supple suspensions on choppy pavement. My Camaro has none of those things. So yes, the Mustang is a better overall coach.

However, I'm very happy with my Camaro because I didn't want a car, I wanted a sports car on a budget. And a sports car the Mustang is not. So, I live with my imperfect Camaro, and I couldn't be happier.
On the other hand, 2015 Mustang Convertibles can be had for less then $20k, still under warranty. So if you're simply looking for a stylish top-down cruiser...

Beware of the 2018 Mustang. It may be real!y competing with the Camaro. Doubtful GM will give us any more storage space.

So a Lotus Evora is not a car, isnīt it?

For me a car is an item to drive it faster, enjoying each moment running miles with my girlfriend and smiling for having something different than a dishwasher with wheels...

Some things I've observed that are different in my car. I have a Base 1LT with just three options - V6, Bose, and 8-speed Auto.

My iPhone integration is great, either over bluetooth, or with CarPlay. I can easily browse playlists. It is better that previous Hyundai products or Acura/Honda products I've used or rented.

I agree about storage, but actually enjoy the parking break. My son thinks the sound of it engaging "sounds cool".

Having an Automatic, I don't experience cold hands due to the vents, and like the operation of them, but I can see how that'd be annoying if one's hand was there all the time.

What I do HATE - is the fact we only have one 12V power-point, and that it is placed in a prominent spot right by the shifter. I leave a variety of things plugged in at times, and this is a bad spot. I'm waiting for one to get smacked and damage either the plug or the socket.

I also wish there were holders for the seatbelts, and I have the issue I've seen others complain about with the seat material showing seams and edges around the seatback levers used to fold the seats.

All that said - overall I love the car. I've only ever owned one other GM product, and imho they've come a long way with the interiors. The car is a lot of fun to drive. This is a "starter Camaro" for me. I hope the next one will be an SS (or better/faster).

Almost everyone that has ridden in my car has been impressed with how nice the interior was, especially for what is relatively speaking, a base car.

Camaro vs Mustang debate has been going on forever. I grew up on Mustangs and just recently converted to Camaro - with a few Corvettes sprinkled in the middle.

Its a given that Ford will step up Mustang performance, Chevy will do it on next gen, then Ford....etc. Mustangs far outnumber Camaros in overall sales, have far more following, more readily available parts/3rd party and more vendor support. I could swap out just about every cosmetic part on my 2014 GT within months of its release.

Camaros make me happier currently however...doubt I will ever go back to modern mustangs - an old Mach1, hell yea!

Having owned all 3, as mentioned....Corvettes are still the best overall ride for pure sports car enjoyment IMO. They are however the least practical and most expensive. That is why the avg age of a Corvette buyer is over 50...at least I helped bring down the avg age some. Regardless all 3 make for a fun ride!

I use a zip drive for music. No need to fill up my phone's storage with that.

I too was expecting much more valid points from the OP. Cubbies?? Those are places for grime, change and receipts to pile up in. I'd sooner throw a tupperware bowl in there if I needed something to put stuff into.

Wow I think this is the first person that's ever made sense on this site about Mustang vs Camaro.
