Increased Production = Common Camaros

Starting to see Camaros more and more frequently now. Surely hope they don't start popping up like the Stangs and Chargers, especially now that Avis Rental has bought a whole fleet. I've got about 5 more weeks till my car gets delivered, and I hope I get at least a month or two out of it before it loses its "Oooh look its that new Camaro" appeal.

Here's my stats in the DC area

Camaro sightings - 0.5 a week
Challenger sightings - 1 a week
Charger sightings - 5 a day
Mustang sightings - 24 times a day

Oh and my Camaro sightings are gonna be going up a lot now. Someone in my complex just got one last week... And in Black... Well at least I got the RS.

How long do we have until heads stop turning?

I give it until end of 2010 heads will keep turning. I was still very interested in the Mustang redesign through 2006 even though it came out in 2005, or was that 2004? I forgot now...

It's starting to loose its appeal already in my City. Which is good. Being a 'car-lebrity' is cool for the first week or so, but after about the 6th time you come out of a store and walk to your car (which you parked all by itself as far away from any other car as possible) to find it surrounded by other vehicles and covered in fingerprints, you will be praying for more Camaros

The more that are out there the better chance that GM won't kill the Camaro again. I didn't buy my Camaro as a "rare car" and never hoped that it would be. I want the Camaro to be around a while. And since Ford never ceased production of the Mustang I believe that you will still see alot more of them than the Camaro. As far as the Challenger it's rare to see one in west TN.

Dear God, why would anyone cut their Camaro in half like that?

Ahem. Kidding.

There aren't any in the small town where I live, and only one other in the town of 9,000 where I work - and of course, it's black.

Oh well, if you want to be the only person in town with a certain car, you're going to have to get a Ferrari or something. The Camaro looks great and is affordable - they're going to sell. I can't control what anyone else buys - I'm just loving that I'm about to own the most beautiful 2010 on the road.

To answer your question, though, the Camaro has always been my favorite car and it ALWAYS turns my head, any year, any color.

I see them about everyday around here. Just got mine yesterday and see what your talking about. It's a head-turner for sure. Two kids about ran into another car turning around to look at mine.

Heads will always keep turning to look at what passed by them.

Thats just human nature

Remember the Fiero? GM only expected to sell 30k per year but sold 100k in the first year and couldn't keep up with the orders. Each year after that they sold less and by the fourth year sales were half of the first years sales (but still way above initial forecasts) and GM pulled the plug the following year because they claimed they were losing money due to low sales.

My point is that if they use this spectacular sales year as a benchmark the Camaro could be in trouble down the road.
