L99 exhaust

my car currently has a stock exhaust, ive been doing research as to what aftermarket system to put, and im set on an axleback system. However i keep seeing that the car will drone, i have no expierence as to what drone is or what it sounds l like, but i wouldnt want to be annoyed while driving, lol. i found that the solo j pipes are really good, anyone have any feedback for this type of system? i also like the way the borla S type sounds as well. Something not too aggressive, just gives a note of a v8.

My experience...
I had a local muffler shop take off the suitcase mufflers and re-weld the tips back on the new chunks of pipe (usually referred to as a 'Muffler Delete'), and bought a Range Device. I've had both for over two and a half years and am very happy with the results. I have not experienced any drone at all so far. I've taken a couple of highway trips, and to me, the interior noise level is actually a little lower with the Range installed. Engine is just smoother running on all eight, as opposed to four!
That's just my experience, I'm sure others will add theirs as well :-)

Solo is AWESOME! I have their Mach XL catback and before I got long tube headers the sound was great. Now with headers it is incredible! If I had to do it again I'd still go with them. Also, I still have AFM enabled and still no drone, even with headers. There are some that just go with their axle back exhaust and love it like I love my catback, I just didn't want the stock clunky resonator nor did I want to cut up my exhaust and hope I cut at the correct spot.

Def have the resonators removed and install an x pipe. Other than that, it;s whatever you like

Solo !

I would recommend the Solo exhaust if drone is a concern. My SS is cammed, headers with high flow cats and I retained the factory resonator. I replaced the factory mufflers with the Solo axle back. There is no drone, it is not loud inside the car while driving normal. It is loud behind the car and it sounds mean when you start it. The cam is noticeable to everyone, I get lots of compliments. Now when you go WOT it is loud. The Solo system is a muffler delete with J-pipes to prevent the drone.

I have this as well and no regrets. I did have the AFM tuned out though before i put long tubes on.

I have the Solo Axle back also and I'm pleased with the sound. Not very loud but much but much better than stock.

Had my mufflers deleted with the factory resonator intact for about $120 and it sounds great with some great rumble. I still want it louder so I will be going with an X-pipe and resonator delete next, I love the sound!

I went with the mbrp cat back initially then added the range device. Personally i didnt care for the range device. I experienced all the little quirks people describe such as not starting every month or so. Happened one too many times when out with my wife so i ditched it and ended up getting long tubes and a tune. If i had to do it all over, i would go long tubes and tune first then pick mufflers for the sound. The mbrp is mild without long tubes, but perfect with long tubes. Tame low rumble tone at idle but nice growl when you mash the gas.

Did the same ...
1st...muffler delete with straight pipe & resonated tips...definitely a nice improvement from stock

2nd..(deleted factory resonator) installed magnaflow resonated x pipe did not make it louder.....but it has a deeper tone similar to corvette

Still not loud as I want but when u get on the gas 😊.

I'm thinking about swapping out the magnaflo to : true xpipe with some flowmaster mufflers
