Finally getting a cat-back - save stock exhaust?
Hey everyone - I've finally decided to get a cat back on my 100% stock 2010 2SS/RS. With that being said, would it be wise to save the stock exhaust incase I end up trading the car in/selling it? I've never put any after market exhaust on a car before so not sure what would be the best thing to do.
Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Definitely!
Have you considered getting headers?I ask because I wanted a louder exhaust and I looked at catbacks, muffler deletes, etc, and I ended up going with just headers. I got an extra 20-30hp and it's louder now as well. You can get Speed Engineering headers for about $350...probably as much as or cheaper than most catbacks.

I haven't considered this! Do you need a tune afterwards?

Do headers before a catback. Headers + tune will actually get you power with your improved sound. You won't gain anything besides noise from a catback alone.
Headers + tune is the best mod I ever did to my car.

Shitcan that stock exhaust. It's useless.

Tune is definitely recommend if you get long tube headers. Also, it voids your warranty if you still have the factory one. However, if you get shorty headers you wont and a tune isnt necessary, but still beneficial. Hope this helps! Also, most places wont mind the aftermarket exhaust too much. But you could always sell the stock cat-back. Food for thought, good luck!

If you have the space, why not keep it? I have mine attached to the ceiling in my garage.

The reason I purchased the Solo Axle Backs is that the stock exhaust takes up very
little space in my shed. If you want to save the Cat Backs you better have a lot of storage space.
