We've no idea just how difficult it is anticipate demand. Part of the mystique w/Camaro is its limited availability. Like a surfer trying to stay just ahead of the crest.

haha, i think you are on the wrong forum to get sympathy for waiting only a little over a month thus far :P

although i know how hard the wait is from day one! and it never gets easier!

just wait till its a week past you TPW and you still dont have a VIN, and the people for the next week do! then it gets hardd to wait.

....oh wait, thats only me.

>>i was at my dealer asking if they would be a part of the 60 day guarantee, and they had 3 Equinoxes, 1 LaCrosse, and 1 Camaro in the delivery area. i was impressed.<<

There's a Camaro in the commercial with the new chairman talking about the 60 day thing.

I hope they sell 8 million of the buggers! Every 'regular' Camaro sold increases the chance I will be getting a 5th gen Z28!

This plant was designed for multiple vehicles and not to run multiple shifts of a single model. It would take expensive engineering changes to increase our capacity of the camaro.
We are running full out now and have Saturdays scheduled. As much as everyone in Oshawa would like to see more shifts added, its probably not going to happen till fall 2010 at the earliest. I hope I'm wrong and they add a shift sooner as we still have many members on layoff ....some with as much as 24 years with GM.

it is amazing that in the late 60's they produced these kind of #'s, when they plan on producing many less today
Official Chevrolet production records show a total of 220,906 Camaros built in 1967; 235,147 Camaros built in 1968; and 243,085 Camaros built in the last year of the first generation, 1969. Note that the 1969 model year was extended to November 1969, 4 months longer than normal, due to production delays with the redesigned 1970 Camaro

We can't keep equinox's in stock and we have dealers wanting to trade 2SS/RS camaro's for them. We have 1 cobalt on the lot, and 2 aveo's, because they all sold under cash for clunkers..we have three traverse's....It has been difficult getting almost ANY car (except corvette) or truck.

If I remember corrcetly, there are about 200,000 - 250,000 chevy's on the lot nationwide, and I thought they said that was about 25% of what was out there in 2008.

I can't sell what I don't have!
