The article just said they found 60 Z/28's with $25,000 slashed from original MSRP. They did not say they found 60 brand new Z/28's with that price. They are just stating that you can buy one now (used) for $25,000 less than what new MSRP was.

The article is from nov 2015, it's a year old and was probably back when GM was offering discounts to help dealers clear out some inventory.

I bought my 2015 black Z/28 in early October. The car was never titled, but, had 300 miles on it, and I had to buy out of state and have it shipped.. The deal was pretty much unbelievable. Better than any deal I have heard on this forum. They are still out there, but, fewer and fewer left... You can tell by the rear Trefeo tires if it has been abused (burn outs) and you can tell by the front Trefeo tires if it has been Tracked.. Also look for rock chips on the front of the rear quarter panels. Of course, there is no way to tell if it has been rev'ed over 4K during break in period.. My Trefeos looked new, front and back, so, I as not too concerned. There were some very small rock chips on the rear quarter panels from the tires at 300 miles, but, only a few. I put the sl1addons long rock guards (no drilling version) on immediately after I received it. I have almost 1500 miles now and the Car and motor run perfect so far. I am ecstatic with this Z/28.

I bought my new 2015 in October - 20 miles - $24k off MSRP - Ashen Gray - Buddy bought a white one - 19 miles on it for $23k off MSRP also early October - both were new, never titled and came with full new car warranty and service plan. I had deposit on the black one at $25k off, but passed after I landed the Gray one, which was my preferred color, same for my buddy and the white one. Once we got offers at $24k off we saw no reason to dicker over the last few dollars - to get these cars, new, at these prices was a real win. Maybe not a financial win - but a win for us to have super fun cars for around $52K!
Initially I saw a couple black ones advertised at this price level ($25k off), one in NJ and one in IN and simply emailed a number of dealers with new ones, in the color of our choice (Gray for me, white for him) offers at $25k off MSRP - got responses from $5k off to $24k off - most in the $10k - $15k off range - first response - $15k - $20k in second response. Called all the dealers that offered $20k off or more and spoke with dealer GM (3 in my case, 2 in his) and got specifics on the cars. Once we knew we had the right car, then it was just getting the best price. At that time there were only were 2 silver ones available, new, on the web, both dealers wanted around $5k off MSRP. Two weeks ago one of those dealers had an ad up on Auto Trader or Cars.com for $59k so about $17k off MSRP for the same car. So new ones could be bought in the $23k - $25k off MSRP price range a month ago. Probably still the case if a dealer does not want to sit on it for the winter. Most dealer financing requires the dealer to buy the car after 2 years of flooring - that is when they get real motivated, right before they have to write that check - most feel it is better to write a $15k check than a $65k check! |

I just bought one from Louisiana and had it shipped to me yesterday for 55k, brand new never titled with 57 miles. Brand new sitting in a show room for 2 years and I can personally attest that there are still 31 cars still available around the US for sale right now. If you need any help getting one Z28HLR hit me up, I can help you and have a great shipping company too, only cost me 1k to ship mine 2400 miles enclosed.

I bought my 2015 Z/28 brand new off the showroom floor just a month ago and it only had 17 miles on it. I had to go to NW Indiana to get it but it was worth every mile of the drive. It had sat in the showroom from the day it was delivered to the dealer.
The MSRP was $77,050 and I bought it for $51,900 which is a little over $25K off MSRP. There are definitely some deals out there if you look but they get fewer every day.

It's just after my one year anniversary of my new 2015 at $53k....3100 happy break in and track miles later, every time I go out to the garage to grab a beer and look at the Z I think..."man this car is really bad-ass"
I really *****-footed the car at the track this past year, keeping it in "3". Now that I have a better feel for the car, the nannies will gradually diminish and I look forward to really driving this beat... Coming from my Evo IX "hero" race car which can mask 90% of mistakes, the Z requires much more skill to get the most out of it..

Same song, different verse
https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-d...020457813.html
"According to the ad, this example was retained by GM for display purposes, and thus never allocated to a dealer. CarFax confirms, showing the car sold by the manufacturer at auction with 243 miles on the clock this January. Basically, it’s a brand-new, zero-owner vehicle, offered two years later at a $25,000 discount." 2G1FS1EE7E9699065 - CTF, no a/c http://www.naplesautocollection.com/...0d26ecafe99a7/ |
