Z/28 Rear Seat question

Hi,

I'm new to the forum so I wanted to say hello to everyone. Unfortunately, I broke the rear seat of my 2015 Z28 by trying to pull it down since I disconnected the battery and locked the trunk shut. The latch on the back of the seat tore away from the styrofoam.

I know that our rear seats are made of a lightweight styrofoam and my dealer keeps on trying to source me a regular backseat.

Does anyone know where I can buy a Z28 back seat?

I really appreciate everyone's help.

-Jerry

Do search on gmparts.com > you should be able to go find one.

I'm sure you figured out that they do not fold down...it was eliminated in the weight savings campaign.

Actually, they do fold down still. They just didn't give us a latch on the inside. You can push the latch with your finger from inside the trunk to fold it down. Unfortunately for the OP, he was locked out of the trunk. I've been thinking of attaching a string or something to the latch and feeding it through to the cabin in case I end up doing the same thing by mistake.

You are absolutely right. If you go to GMparts.com you can purchase the pull tab instead of using the string. I purchased that and also the Z28 seat back thanks to the Ravin bull who suggested it.

Awesome! I didn't know the pull tab would work. Do you by chance have the part number for the tab? Thanks.

Bear with me - a short story...
(edger allan poe was the raven.... )
But..... my old '79 Z/28 was called "The Raging Bull" after I built it up with a 730 hp ->> 530 hp in a stroked/built forged engine w/200 hp wet shot, plus a rebuilt upgraded transmission and 12 bolt rear end from an older 72 Chevelle 454 SS which I found wrecked at a junk yard. The engine was built by an NHRA engine builder.
I eventually came around to naming the car that as I never lost a race, and I likened it to a bull in the china closet....it was just a brute of a car in a straight line. It destroyed every corvette I ever ran up against back then. To get to those HP numbers I was making my own octane booster- a chemical match to an older product made by Morosco (no nitromethane).
Our new Z's are so much more car than those older cars. In 79 that car came with a 4 bolt 350 w/190 HP

Hence when I came to the forum after getting my Z it had to be The_Raging_Bull

I originally thought that as well. When it folds down it does feel pretty flimsy. Definitely doesn't way that much.
