Wouldn't it be easier to buy a left and a right piston and send them to Wiseco or Diamond , or am I missing something? They aren't that pricey

That's what I would do if I didn't think the company wasn't confident they could make the Pistons without samples. I have talked to Wiseco once upon a time and they claimed they were familiar with them, but misquoted the stock compression ratio by a full point, I tried to tell them they were wrong about the stock compression ratio, they wouldn't have it. I wouldn't trust Wiseco to do it without sending samples, unless now they have their shit together. I had also talked to Probe once upon a time, they had never messed with these Pistons and had no problem admitting they hadn't. They wanted samples. I'm not certain, but I think Probe may be a more affordable option than some of the others. I think stock Pistons are like $30ish dollars each, better safe than sorry to send samples. The biggest difference the Pistons need to accommodate the rods is the lack of a taper on the pin end. ![]() You can see the diff in the pin end of the rod Here, the JF rod is straight and the factory rod is tapered. The factory piston is tapered in the bottom to fit the factory rod, which is why you can't use factory Pistons with these rods. It's really not a big deal for the custom Pistons to be made to suit the rods like this though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I will probably buy the left and right pistons for the LLT and send them to diamond with a JacFab rod. My biggest need is a stronger ringland, my water injection is keeping the rods and pistons alive by reducing a sudden shock from detonation.

Did you ever look into using LF4 parts?

I have a set of LF3 rods. They are shorter than LLT/LFX rods, I imagine the LF4 rods are probably also shorter, but have never confirmed.

May take rods and matching pistons. Data sheet shows 10.2:1.

Forged rods for the LFX engine!
Just a quick update on the rod production. The ride should be shipping to me next week, I should have them here with me by the second or third week of December. I will start asking people for the remaining balances at around that time, if you would like to pay early that's fine by me. Once I have received the remainder of your balance owed, your rods will ship to you.
Time is running out to get in on the group buy deal! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Jason@JacFab; 11-21-2016 at 08:48 PM. |

One thing I'm seeing is that the LLT pistons has valve reliefs for both the intake and exhaust valves, while the LFX only have reliefs for the intake. Looks like my build has gotten more expensive.

Also, fuel delivery. I've seen very limited talk of using LF3 fuel pumps and such. A little talk in this thread and that thread, but no compiled break down on whats going on there. What is that all about? Why are some guys using LF3 fuel parts, how, where, and to what effect? |
