Was under mine last week changing the oil. Everything's tight. No leaks, rattles, or rubs. I checked all bolts/clamps a week after the install and NOTHING required re-torquing.
Search for a thread "ebay headers" and 'shrecker". He's one of the ones who gave such great feedback on the headers, I got them too. The only people I've seen that don't like the headers, are people who have never used them! Speed-Engineering is a camaro5 vendor. Send them a PM with any questions. When I bought mine last Dec., off road connections came with them. Mine had a small mark on one port flange (liked like something may have scratched it). Don't think it would have leaked, but I hit it lightly with a smooth file, before installing. The sealing surface (header to gasket) is rough (appears to be sand blasted), but seals fine with stock gaskets. The texture is not too rough and very uniform. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

I'm starting to lean towards going the cheap route. I really want those damn kooks stepped headers but man....saving 1k bucks sounds pretty good, especially being on a budget

Just got mine delivered last week. Haven't installed them yet, but they look to be good quality. I've been waiting to install because I'm still contemplating finding some HF cats. Not worried about the smell so much as the rasp, exhaust tip soot, and overall volume. I already have the NPP catback, and would like a little more volume but don't want to piss off the neighbors too much if I can help it.
If anyone has run these both catless and catted I'd like to hear your impressions. |

I love mine, starts up loud but after it warms up and cruising around the car actually isn't too loud unless you step on it.

speed engineering headers
Installed mine today, very easy install, great fit. The only negative thing I can say the clamps are not that great. The welds look teally good.

Don't use the clamps that come with the kit. Get some wide band clamps, put some high temp gasket maker around the pipe overlap and clamp it down. Makes a nice seal and also easy to remove.
https://m.summitracing.com/parts/wlk...1mgRoCTS_w_wcB Any type of clamp that crushes the pipe is a disaster to service Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Speed engineering headers fit like a glove. The only issue I had was exhaust leaks at the collector. I couldnt get the clamps tight enough. I just had them welded in place. I can always cut it later and add real bolt flanges if needed later on. But that would be so far down the road the tires may fall off first.
