Too bad the Hellcat wasn't new... You get the Bondurant class for free with SRT purchase. Might be worth a look to see if the first owner used it or not. But still, congrats!

Congratulations! Your new rides are awesome and you made a good choice on the replacements.
You're right - the Z/28 is not for everybody and certainly is a very laser-focused machine. Your new rides will work much better for the day-to-day that sounds like what you really want/need. Again, nice choices and congratulations!

Love the z28 and the hellcat, different weapons. One is a samurai sword and the other is a sledge hammer.

BMW of Austin (Texas).
They already have it listed with a ton of pics. Again, I have nothing to gain from its sale, although the salesman and F&I guys I dealt with were both great (Brian Giroux- Pre-Owned Internet Sales Manager. Tell him Darren the Hellcat guy sent you.). Would prefer not to divulge trade value as it would undermine their end, and they treated me fairly. Keep in mind that trade value isn't a true number. They can pump up a trade value but the price of what you are buying might not be great, or vice-versa, where the trade may be a bit low but they come off their asking price. They have to make money off one end or the other. Although trade value might be a little low for your vehicle, keep in mind that many states offset the tax fee, where you only pay the difference (which, in effect, "adds" to your total trade to the tune of $2-4k). Suffice to say, there is enough negotiating room on my old Z/28's asking price for buyer and seller to walk away feeling good about the deal, IMO. |

I'm not a fanboy of any brand, but I appreciate neat and interesting cars that perform in one way or another. I'll miss the rarity of the Z/28 (although apparently in Austin there are quite a few!), and I have been ruined by the look and size of the awesome CCB's. In my brief experience, the Z and the HC are only similar in that they are both 2dr performance coupes. They really are that different. It's like comparing Chinese and Italian food. You really can't say one is better than the other. Both are great, but what are you in the mood for? I am lucky my wife gave be her blessing (aka permission ) to make the switch to try something new, and fortunate to be able to have owned a Z/28. No regrets.

You're right - they are such vastly different machines but I love them both for different reasons. You did good.

Always curious about why people trade these cars with so few miles, but haven't ever had a chance to ask anyone. Care to share why you decided it wasn't for you?
Congrats on the Hellcat, btw. Different, but brutal in it's own way! Hopefully you will remain on the forum and provide some thoughts on the Hellcat and just hang out with your former Z/28 brethren!

I purchased on speculation, that the demand on these low production vehicles would rise quickly. It hasn't. I purchased a 2014 AGM CTF with 600 miles. it's the real deal, GM owned car, never raced. |
