Did i break a motor mount?

I was under my Camaro today cleaning things up and looking at how some installs are going to go and noticed one of my motor mounts didn't look quite right. I've heard before that the Camaro uses a fluid filled mount to help with noise dampening. It looks to me that i somehow managed to "pop" one of them. pictures below show the one in question and the other which looks normal to me. Any input is greatly appreciated. is this an excuse to go with the BMR?

Yes. Very common. Rubber wears out, then they spew out the fluid.

Thanks hammdo, im thinking to just go all out with the polyurethane instead of another factory part. But i appreciate the info, and awesome build!

Anytime and thanks!

I have BMR polys (mounts are used in great shape, polys are new) if you're looking for some.

That's pretty hardcore. Just to let you know, you'll feel EVERY vibration from the engine. It's not much fun hearing the rattles and vibrations start at one part of the cabin and work to another as the engine goes through the RPM range. But if you can tolerate it, it makes for some crisp launches.

Luckily i don't have to daily drive the car, its more of just a fun car when the weather is good. Ill give them a try, if its too bad i can always pick up a set of stock ones.

They wear out.

Hard driving, launches, and headers all reduce the life of them.

Solid mounts feel great. One of my favorite mods especially with a big cam.

x2. It's all fine if it's a track car or weekend warrior. But trust me, it's no fun when it's a DD.
