Rock Guards

Hi Guys,

I've read some threads where it seems folks are mounting the rock guards with 3M double sided automotive tape. Seems straightforward but at Summit Point I suspect I'll be hitting 145 - 150 MPH on the front straight going into 1. Wanted to avoid drilling into the car but don't want to send one of these things flying at my car (or another!) at speed.

Is 3M enough or suck it up and drill some holes? I suspect the tire blocks a majority of the wind but at those speeds you just never know.

Thanks,
Dave

I have mine held on with tape only. Plenty of track time, no issues.

I used the tape and screws. The bottom screw is factory and the I used one at the top. The tape helps hold the contour of the wheel opening.

I used the factory bottom screw and taped the whole thing. I've ran 125 mph dozens of times and no problems.

Same with me... Don't bother with the short rock guards. Get the long rock guards, use the one exisiting screw at the bottom, then, I used the 3M double sided tape (red plastic dust cover) supplied by Sl1addons along the whole fender, above and below the screw.. It sticks like a car emblem. No problem with mine at speed.
