What mods did you do that made no difference or you regret

Trying to get a feel for what not to do. In the past I've modded everything I owned and a lot of times just wasted time and money. I'm trying to get a feel for what not to do.

Sometimes mods that make little difference initially addup down the road

Thinking back though i would have skipped the ID850s went right to 1300s, skipped the BAP and done the DSX Aux Fuel pump, be setup to use E85 or not, right from the start...

Also probably could have held off until later to do AP Racing Brakes... but stopping is important and i was working my stock brakes to fade even with race pads... probably due to inexperence track driving and braking way to late, or poor brake cooling...

Eventually it will all pay dividens.

I would have skipped the 5% pulley also and just waited till i could do a proper fuel system with the 18% and LTs

Would have skipped headers and high flow cats between 10% JRE setup and 18% or 75RWHP and 125RWHP. The loss of boost made the car a dog.

This is straight BS. Headers drop the boost pressure, but you don't lose that HP, you end up gaining RWHP and RWTQ with Headers. Boost = Restriction, and it is not always good. The supercharger is still putting that same amount of air into the engine, only thing that changed was the pressure of which it was under.

So do Headers if you want more flow (HP and TQ) and sound.

OP, I'd recommend waiting until you go in for real or don't mod. I'm the guy that's choosing to not mod because I know I'll be moving on shortly. If that is you, then don't mod. But if you plan to keep her then save up a few thousand do real mods right off the bat. If I could choose I'd do...

-9.1" Lower Pulley
-BTR 3 Cam
-ID1300s
-Cold air intake
-Headers
-Heat Exchanger
-Vmax ported throttle body
-Tune and misc necessary parts.
-R888 Tires all around

And drive it and enjoy it.

Mods that drop boost are good. Boost = restriction= heat. Ecm will need to be retuned.

True. But we must clarify for some people who are mechanically unwell that just because the restriction was dropped does absolutely NOT mean that the cars power dropped with it. Just because 1 PSI drops does not mean that 1 PSI worth of boost dropped, not the case. Think about it, nothing mechanically changed, just air restriction.

Same...and a ported tb. Waste of money on a tuned car. This is my 3rd mod ded camaro, so this time around I kinda knew what to do and what not to do.

I'm shooting for 600-625whp. I started the thread to gain information on what not to have to do over. I'm famous for that haha. I don't mind modding in stages, in fact it's more fun that way so I can stay married.

9.1" Lower Pulley (18% overdrive)
-ATI Balancer
-Lingenfelter Lower ring
-ARP Bolt
Headers
ID850 Injectors(If you don't plan on going past 650-700rwhp they're fine)
Roto-fab CAI
Misc parts and Tune.

Basically this is a JRE 125 WHP Package, available here: https://www.jreperformanceparts.com/...-rwhp-package/

This will get you into the numbers you're looking for.
