I am going to be leaving my car outside for a short period of time (a few months) and i am considering a car cover that wont scratch the paint.. What have you guys used that you like?

I like the covercraft NOAH fabric covers.

I used them when I used to store my Monte Carlo outdoors for a few years.

In theory...no cover. Sitting outside wind/dirt will get under it, move it around, and scratch things up - most likely nothing severe, would be "swirl" like micro scratches. For a few months I would just let it sit outside as is.

Granted this is all theory, while I have stored outside covered and uncovered, I didnt take the time to determine if there was really any difference.

The NOAH covers are very form fitting, and you just tie them down. I never had issues with dirt getting under it. Always was a clean car (little smudges on the glass, but that was it), when I uncovered it after the season.

The bad news
IMHO Even outdoor covers can/will get a "little" dirt/dust between the cover and the paint.
You can tighten it up and that helps. but it is inevitable with wind blowing, driveway dirt etc.
I've found issues caused by this are minimal at most. It's a lot better than no cover at all!
The Weathershield HD is a little bulkier than some of the other fabrics for cabinet storage.

Now for the good news.
Again, IMHO Covercraft (as stated above) makes the best indoor/outdoor covers on the market.
I live in Sunny South Florida so I choose the Weathershield HD "for intense sun environments".
The nice thing about the Weathershield HD is that you can put it in the washer and dryer to clean.
I've found after washing the fabric it's revitalized (water shedding etc.) just like brand new fabric.
I also like like the six year Weathershield HD warranty. It's like having a garage in the driveway.
