2009 Zoo Crooz Pics
We had over 30 cars come out and ride to Capitol Raceway in Crofton to raise money for the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. We raised $2000. The 1/4 mile times ran from 12 to 16 seconds. Yes the 16 seconds was me. I need to practice!!!! Test and Tune here I come. If you have some photos please post. I hope to see everyone again next year. The first photo are Camaro5 members and the second is a group shot. Thanks to Fox Timonium for the lot and advertising, Capitol Raceway for the strip and Corvette Club of America for some of their time at the track. I especially want to thank everyone for coming out. We had every color there except for the Aqua Blue. Watching all of the Camaros in the rearview going around the beltway was just fantastic. I saw a lot of heads turn.

The top pic, the smaller group, are Camaro 5 members. Some of us don't have shirts.

The ride from Timonium to the Capital Raceway was a gas--going down a dip on the ride and seeing the whole line of us stretched out was unreal.
Nez opted not to do the 1/4m and is now regretting it--he blamed it on me but I know the truth! We might go back as soon as a "test and tune" Friday night is convenient for us to give it a go. Everyone who did participate looked great out there. Hopefully we can have a small meet-up on a Test & Tune Friday night for another go at it! Edit: The Summit White/IO stripe appearance was worth the trip to see, too! I had my green eyes on. |

Won't get mine 'til Nov. (tpw 10/12) Hopefully Amelia will set this run up again, sounds like you all had a good time. On a side note, do you think Mickey could fit in the trunk?

Kaeotica,
In the pic, you're the cutie with the dark hair and hoop earrings, right? I'm trying to match names to faces. As for the Summit White with the IO stripes, you are absolutely right. That was one eye-catching car.

Entering Capital Raceway, 98 Rock Style
You missed a camaro5 member in the 1st shot (I guess I did not hear the call), but I’m dead center in the 2nd shot. I was a late arriver, but had a blast. Here is a pics from the cruise over, and one "back stage" at Capital getting ready for our grand enterence. BTW Mine is the Inferno Orange with Cyber Grey stripes. I did 13.509 at 105.94 (nudging the rev limiter in the 1-2nd shift ).
I would definitely be up for a Friday Night Test and Tune especially since Capital allows a rider if you do not run too fast (promised the Fiancée to show her how to drive it down the track,…and hopfully not hit the rev limiter like me). Thanks so much Amelia for setting this up. The entry into Capital raceway (apparently rented by the Corvette Club for the day) was definitely 98 rock style. I’m sure the warm welcome we heard over the PA system from the Corvette club had a lot to do with our 98 rock escort leading the pack. (Let me tell you when you roll into the Lion’s Den of Corvettes with 30 plus Camaros, and people are taking pics of this big lineup of 5th Gens as you pass through, it’s a nice feeling. When can we do it again

Had a blast today!! First time down a track was awesome. I did a 13.70@ 103.56mph. Not bad for 2 passengers (Well 1 really, but I equal 2!!). Time slip said it was 94 degrees.
Time for some performance upgrades. Man it was cool running flat out down the strip. Its addicting. Thanks again to Amelia for getting us together. Great crowd, good to meet everyone again today. And it was cool showing up at the strip with all of our Camaro's in force!! Corvette crowd were great hosts and gave us a warm welcome. And a few people just received their Camaro5 shirts a day or 2 before. Oh, and the Ravens won!!

Awesome pics and video! I hadn't thought about bringing a camera or whipping out my cell for video--glad someone else thinks of these things. Thanks again, Amelia; we're really looking forward to next year if this becomes an annual get-together! Great to see some faces and beautiful cars. |
