The first link as a lot of fluff to surf through but still has some good information.

It would be nice if they tapped into the gen 5 and gen 6 camaro market.
I would recommend starting with this one:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...uspension.html

There is no reason why it would not be made to work on Gen5 ZL1 and/or Gen6 Camaros. They all have the same interface.

Yeah, it certainly looks less aggressive than it could be. I start up slow to new tracks, and it might also makes things worse, since they sort people per their performance in the first session. I've also heard they ask people to short-shift, keep in 3rd and 4th gear only, etc.; I'm hoping they won't do that in level 2 or I might get black flagged : )

My worries aside, I'm hoping they will teach me new skills, too. Besides anything, people keep bragging about their experience there, and this will let me judge their speed and lap times in my mind, once I've been to the same track at same configuration and know about the times.

Btw, looks like there will be gen6 Camaros, too, at Spring Mountain. I wonder if new owners have a discount like the Corvette program.

I don't think anybody is, but this is not the point of why "24 hour endurance testing", is performed by certain manufacturers.

The reason(s) why this type of benchmark is often used as a guideline, by some end users, is quite logical. Particularly those that plan to keep something long term. No?

Don't the ZL1's come with Recaro seats while they were only an option on the 1LE's?

That would be the deciding factor for me. Those seats are damn expensive and the regular SS Camaro seats are the biggest pain point for me on my car right now. The stock, leather seats do a terrible job holding me in place when cornering really hard.

Recaros are an option too in ZL1 starting in 2014. They come standard in the Z/28.
They are more supportive but not made for tall people like the standard seat are since you loose almost 2 inches of head room.

Leather seats are not the right option choice for a performance car.

You lose about 1.5" wth the manual Recaro seats (like those that come with Z/28), but only about 0.5" with the full powered version.

Zl1 and 2SS are powered and 1SS manual I guess?

I'm sure ZL1 and 2SS versions are fine. I might be wrong, but the Recaro option might give you the full powered version even at 1SS trim. I first bought the manual with no logo from Chevy performance catalog, and it was pretty bad in terms of seat height. Apparently, everyone who bought it before me were much shorter than me since no one said anything, and I'm just 5'10" : P

I later exchanged it with full powered version. IIRC, the seat pulled all the way back, the max distance between bottom and the roof was 36.5". The regular SS seat had about 37", not to mention softer cushion, that lets you even more.

Luckily, C7 seat has the same base, so I was able to convert the GT seats into competition : ) Much less cost than what I had to go through with my Camaro.

Competition on the passenger side, GT on the driver side (pic taken before I converted the driver side).

Wow! Great info on the seats! I'm still wrestling on what to do with mine since I hate my stock SS seats but not enough to shell out $3500 on aftermarket Recaros that won't match my interior or more on factory Camaro Recaros.

I'm exploring the possibility of having an upholstery shop modify my stock seats with additional bolstering in the sides but we'll see how much that would cost vs. what the outcome would look like but that's a topic for another thread.
