We still are using a 2" core, but there is room to go wider with 14 rows of tubes. The stock maggie brick is 11 functional rows, 5 on one pass and 6 on the other, not ideal at all. Plus it is a bar and plate style, which restricts flow across the core because of the square edges. I switched to the 12 row prototype we did first and gained a little boost due to just that. The 14 row I am about to put in also has more fins per inch for better heat transfer as well. It also sits about 1/4" higher off the manifold floor. Ill post a few pics.

I'm looking forward to hear how your 14 row does and the pricing, would certainly like to upgrade from the stock plate design.

4 Bolts, nothing hard about the install at all, the number where to buy is already posted or you could wait on the similar design 2012LS3VERT is coming out with soon, I bet it will be cheaper, all I know is the way it's design increases the efficiency of the Maggie big time. I'm currently having piston ring blowby issues on our test car/motor, or I would have tested the new intercooler core and snout by now. Just trying to get that ironed out before blasting it on the dyno. |
