I have an extra set of factory wheels with TPMS installed with my track tires and whenever I switch any set out they must always have the relearn program done. No exceptions. My local servicing dealer does this for free.

Right. He will have an error with the non-TPMS tires. Reinstalling the TPMS tires already learned by the vehicle (keeping the same sides) should just work after a restart and a few blocks of driving.

When I swap my rims I get the error code but
when I put my original wheels back on the computer remembers those wheels and does not need to be relearned. I know I am in LI, NY and will always pay more than the rest of the country but Mavis Tire charged me close to $180 when I pulled up with my Camaro wheels / tires in the back of my pick up truck and another set of tires and said take those off and put these on. They never saw the car, tied up a bay and did no reprogramming. Cant believe how cheap some of you guys are getting it done! |

This seems to be ONLY if you install non TPMS wheels/tires and switch back to your TPMS set but not if you're switching between sets of wheels/tires that do have TPMS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. If you switch TPMS sensors you have to learn them each time you switch. The Camaro is only going to remember 4 sensors.
