JacFab intake spacer install
Finally had a decent day to get it installed.
Laid my tools out and said ..."GO" Following the included instructions, (which were pretty damn perfect) I didn't rush and was done in 53 minutes. Piece of cake. I'd say on a scale of 1-10 where a cold air intake is a 1.5, this was probably a whopping 2. I had to chose between my BMR strut brace or the engine cover. The brace won.. Function over aesthetics... My butt dyno lIkes it.. Thanks Jason!

Sounds awesome, great news! My spacers are still in box. I'm waiting till mid-march or so to do mine. April 1st is the target for getting the RS back on the road. I'm thinking that since I'm gonna have the intake off I might as well give the intake valves a walnut blasting and try my hand at porting the intake manifold and the 80MM throttlebody as well. Did you do any porting on yours Pete? I thought I remember you saying you was gonna try it yourself also. So you can feel the difference, huh? Running with the cover off will let the motor not retain heat as much so keeping the brace and losing the cover is actually +2.

Want to take a full day and take my time. Since i now know that it comes off so easy, I have a better idea what half of the job will entail. Also, I was at my GF's house the resin I'm going to use to porting will have to cure some place warm. Didn't want to smell up her house. I also have the Jet Stage 2 coming on Wednesday..

Yes the stage two, it took a couple days for my ecu to get a handle on it. Lots of people slam on it, but I feel it pulls better, harder in the 3500-6500 rpm range. It didn't seem to add much for out of the hole, hopefully the spacers are gonna help with that, and the 80 did too. Driving normal, not a lot of hot Rodin' or 100mph blasts, you should see a 1.5-2 or so mpg increase. I think mine went from a 20.5 to 21.9 over a couple months. Good luck, Pete!

It's a manual, so I won't benefit from the shift point changes from the Jet chip

The JacFab intake manifold spacer increases low and mid-range tq, with a slight increase in top end power.

I actually only have the JacFab ported intake manifold, I do not have the JacFab intake spacer. The intake manifold was ported for the 80mm throttle body by Jason. I cannot vouch on how these two modifications improved performance over stock since they both were installed at the same time I was getting my twin turbo setup designed and installed.
