NPP Muffler Mod

Did this a couple of weeks back. Love the sound. Definitely louder from stock, and snap crackles and pops a lot more. Getting headers put in this Saturday, amd possibly a cam next week. Til then.. Enjoy, and heres the inside pics of the muffler....

Im in West Dundee. I was going to do this for my c6z, but I got some Corsas for 400, which was pretty much the same as if youre doing the muffler mod for the Z. I only paid $150 to get this done.

After hours fabrication in Aurora did the work.

I need to hear this in person along with my car side-by-side with yours as i have the exact exhaust setup (minus the NPP muffler mod). I know the video can't do justice but it sounds great!

Looks like that perforated pipe that is cut-out is replaced by a solid one?

Question:

How does this " NPP muffler mod" compare to running "NPP full flaps open" sound wise?

Its louder, and the sound is more distinct.

When the dual-mode flap/valve is in the fully open position isn't that center pipe already straight through the muffler from one end to the other without interference?
How does removing the straight through section that has the holes in it make much difference in the sound level when the valve is open?
Not understanding how this would alter the sound much? Does it instead send some sound out the other pipe tip on the right side (top of photo).
When the flap/valve is SHUT I can see how this mod would be louder. But when valve is open does it really make much difference?

Yes. Having the valve open will jave a straight through sound... i keep it open. With the perforated pipe sealed, itll be more of a straight pipe with the option to quiet it down.
