Are the summer tires made out of the same rubber compound as the A/S? I'd imagine the summer tires will have a softer rubber compound, leading to quicker wear.

Summer tire is 340 vs the a/s of 400. I don't have a zl1 like you guys but the stock pirelli is a 220 tread. So at 17,500 they're about ready for replacement, and I've only done a few burnouts. So the comp 2 summer tire would give me better mileage than the pirelli, and have a bit more grip than the a/s. But it's close..

Was reluctant to get the BFG A/S Comp2 but now glad I did. Car has been in shop since Oct and had the tires put on while it was getting body work done. Have put about 150 miles on it in COLD temps and am very happy with them. Thanks to those that posted in this thread for convincing me to get these over the PSS. May not have the traction/handling of the PSS but, I can now drive no matter what the temp is.

I needed tires bad since the weather has changed...I got the A/S installed today about 40* and misting rain...Out the box I am extremely impressed with these tires...Car handles with confidence on a wet roadway with great traction, no noise that I could notice, and they also ride extremely well...I think their rated at 45,000 miles although I don't expect them to last that long according to my driving habits...Completely satisfied with these tires!!!

Glad to hear that. I did notice my tires didn't hook so well below 40 degrees, but that was me putting my foot in it. Other than that, same experiences as you.

Got a chance to drive the car with the new BFG's Comp 2's A/S today on dry roadway temp in the low 70*...Have a straightaway close to my home a little longer than an 1/8th mile, from a 1st gear roll on about 30mph thru 4th gear floored no wheel spin, period!!!It was spinning the hell out of the old GY's and I would only get to 92mph, with the new tires I hit 107...That a 15mph increase with all nannies off and on an un-prepped street...Again I don't race my car but being able to hit a spirited run and keep the rearend from breaking loose is awesome!!!I haven't smoked them nor have I put any break in miles on them...I'm impressed to say the least...

They do, if you read the fine print on the BFG they tell you that. Doesn't matter, still one of the best all around tires you can put on a ZL1.

You mean side to side rotation doesn't count?
