not happy with the clay bar...
with removing water spots on my black Camaro..
I have the Meguiar's smooth surface clay kit..it looks better but I still can see the water spots..should I continue with the clay bar and follow up with something like Adams paint finishing polish and or the Paint correction polish both of which I have?? Or?

Clay bar can remove contaminants on the paint. Water spots can actually be etching in the clear coat due to acidic rain or other minerals. Whatever a clay bar doesnt take out, a polish certainly would.
I dont have experience with either of those compounds, but since Adam's is top notch, I assume they would take care of the job.

After claying, polish.
It all depends on what your water spots are. Are they mineral deposits sitting on top of the paint or are they little craters etched into the paint? If they're etched into the paint you'll need to remove all the surrounding clear to be even with the bottom of the etching to make them completely go away. Try wiping with distilled white vinegar, the acidic nature of the vinegar will help dissolve the minerals the clay didn't remove. If the vinegar wipe didn't change the appearance of the water spots you'll need to polish. Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, or Adam's Paint Correcting Polish would be good choices of polishes. The attached link shows all three of Adam's choices, From his new Heavy Correcting Compound, to his Paint Correcting Polish, to his Paint Finishing Polish. You'd want to start with the least aggressive first to see how that works for you. This link my help with identification: http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/158...pots/?p=245634

Here is a good thread which will show you what type of water spots you have, and how to remove them.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...-type-iii.html Your Adams products should work fine if you have Type II water spots. The important thing is to find out why your getting these spots. Do you park near sprinklers? Do you wash/dry the car in direct sunlight? Do you rinse the car without drying it? Is the rainwater acidic where you live?

Just remember once you remove them, keep a good coat of wax or sealant to help prevent them in the future. |

Yes, but they won't perform by hand like they will on a machine. The machines run at Oscillations per Minute (OPM) in the 1,000+ range. You'll not get anywhere close to that speed by hand. He does have a hand polish, Revive Hand Polish, but don't expect miracles by hand.
