2015 canyon manifold

So I was just surfing the Web and came across a picture of a Chevy canyon 2015 manifold and the bolt pattern looks like it would bolt to the lfx... it clearly is different up top, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and would have any info on if it is a better or worse manifold then the one we have now...has anyone done this? Does it even match? I could just be over tired lol

For what its worth, its still the LFX engine... I'd be more concerned if it'd fit under the hood (it probably will).

Right out of the box, the canyon/colorado manifold flows about 10% better than the stock Camaro intake manifold. It will bolt onto the engine, but I don't know if the hood will close, and you would have to redo the intake piping from the TB to the airbox as your stock, or aftermarket CAI stuff will not bolt right up to it as well as the PCV lines won't hook right up either.

It makes me wonder why GM made the intake flow 10% better on the Canyon/Colorado twins compared to the Camaro.

If anything, you would think the low to mid range torque requirement would be a priority (since they are trucks) while the Camaro would get the 10% better flowing intake for higher peak HP numbers.

It probably had more to do with fitment/packaging than performance.

10 percent, that's huge. How much are they costing and where can you pick one up? Boneyard? Dealership? Would the ecu 'self learn' and adjust to that increased flow, or is that too much of a change?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!! With 10% better flow and an 11.4% bigger TB in the Overkill 80mm TB, this could be a very worthwhile mod. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the responses guy's...I may have a new project now I think stretching pvc lines and harnesses won't be that bad of a challenge...10% more without a port may be worth it

Well forum I just scored one from ebay for $126. An FYI any 3.6l 2015 manifold is the same as the Colorado or canyon I'll be hopefully getting it soon... and I'll have more info for you guys...thank for the input so far

For comparison, my ported intakes flow 20-21% better than stock (10-11% better than the Colorado intake, which is why I never bothered to try one because it would have been a lot of extra work to make the rest of the stuff I mentioned above fit.

You also have to remember that the engine or ecm isn't seeing the whole 10-20% airflow increase. I test the intakes with a throttle body only on the flow bench. So if you were to test a cylinder head through the intake valves open at max lift, with the intake pieces, throttle body, CAI of your choice with air filter, you'd likely only see a 2-3% change all together as a whole system, so yes, the ecm can compensate. I only flow the intakes by themselves to test consistency of the porting.

I don't think the Colorado intake would be worth the effort and extra cost to make it work. You'll probably spend just as much or more than me porting an intake for you by the time it's all said and done.

It's just something to mess with still going to port my original intake as I have a 80mm tb to install from a junkyard too.
