Convertible Exhaust, Leaning SLP, Thoughts?

Hey all.... forum newbie and newbie Camaro owner here....

2012 SS2-RS Convertible, LS3 with a 6 speed M/T...

What are the convertible guys doing for exhaust? I did a little searching and figured I'd take the possible ridicule for not searching hard enough and just post a thread looking for help!

I'm looking into the SLP Header Package - 1-3/4" Long Tube Header with High-Flow Cats and the PowerFlo Axle Back Exhaust.

From what I've seen it doesn't seem as tho the convertibles can have the full exhaust with X pipe, I'm guessing that is due to the extra bracing for the convertible. That being said, it just got shipped up to MN and got put away for the winter before I could get it up in the air and really look over it.

My long term plan is exhaust this Spring when I get it out of storage, then probably save up for a couple of years and drop the SLP Supercharger on it and possibly do a Cam upgrade right away as well.

Any suggestions folks?

Thanks!

Take a look at Stainless Works. I believe they offer full cat backs for the verts.

They do. They also sell a kit. I believe it allows other exhausts to fit. I believe it lowers the bracing enough to allow them to fit. I however run a LS3 catback with GMPP axle-back on it. Sounds good and isn't crazy loud. Also have Stainless Power long tubes and hi flow cats. I do like the sound of the Stainless Works retro catback though . At least from the video clips.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Mine has Kooks headers, hi-flow cats, and the Borla ATAK. Outside it is pretty loud - in the car not bad at all, especially with the top down.

I've gone everywhere with my exhaust; staring with BBK shorties with SOLO hi flows and SLP loudmouth 1 when I got it, added ZL1 NPP instead of SLP. Deleted the mufflers, added Longtubes and no cats, and just recently finally put on the SW Retro Catback.

Final set up is longtubes, no cats, retro catback. And it's perfect in my opinion. After a lot of trial and error, I finally got the perfect concoction

Get the SW retro catback if it fits and you have the means to do so, you won't be disappointed.

TSP 2" headers and 3" TSP exhaust. Full kit from engine to kit. Had to modify the Magnaflow mufflers and use spacers for the cross members/X-bracing.

Hi AV8, welcome to the forum. All of our 5th gen exhaust systems are compatible with both coupe and convertible models. Most owners with convertibles tend to prefer our Street catback (#15089) because its moderate tone wont become overwhelming when cruising with the top down. If you have any questions about our products, please feel free to shoot us a PM anytime!
