Did anyone leave the chime module out? Was thinking of not connecting it because I hate the dinging when the door is open at shows.

It should only ding if the key is in ignition. But if you want the key in the ignition and doors open at car shows () than you can take your finger and push the latch mechanism in till it quicks twice and you won't hear the chime anymore. Or install a switch to turn it off when you want.
I would put it in as it does more than ding that the door is open. It also works with the back up sensors and DIC display. So if your car were to tell you you had no oil pressure you would not have an audible warning just a message.

Does anyone know if the Alpine INE-W960 will work with this adapter?

I turned the volume down and if it is still too loud for you, you can place a piece of tape over the speaker hole.

cool thanks. I'm probably gonna go that route. Initially I was like sure leave it out no biggie, but it does prove useful in some situations.

Playing Russian Roulette to save a few dollars is such a fun game, until it isn't. Best Buy isn't qualified to install a light bulb and barely treading water staying out of bankruptcy. Seek out a professional retail shop like Car Toys at the very least. You're in one of the greatest States of our beautiful Nation for car stereo, take advantage of the expertise available at your fingertips. Many of these shops near you have 20+ years experience;

Robert Chin, Blvd Customs of Lakeland, Lakeland, FL
James Drinkut, Tunes-n-Tint, Lakeland, FL
Chase Norman, Tunes-n-Tint, North Lakeland, FL
Ocala Car Audio, Ocala, FL

Man no one seems to answer any questions I ask, so hopefully someone might be able to answer these 2. If I don't have steering wheel controls is there any other programming needed beside the type of radio and does it use the Bluetooth from the onstar of the new aftermarket radio?
