Anyone used Reliable Carriers?

Has anyone used reliable carriers to ship a car to you? I just lined out shipping this morning and wasn't really given an exact date or anything. I know they do great work, just wanted some reviews from someone here. About how long did it take from Phone call to delivery?

I bought my Z out of Lawton, Oklahoma and had it shipped to me in South East Idaho. Reliable couldn't even do it, and suggested I drive 200miles south to SLC and still charge $3,000. Timeframe was 3-4 weeks.

Called around to some local transporters and was able to find a closed carrier through a broker, have it delivered in 7 days the extra 200 miles, and cut the rate in half!

I had Reliable deliver my COPO and my Z/28, very good people and zero problems. I trust them cause shipping high end cars is all they do, cars that are worth waaaay more then mine. They know what they are doing, they are heavily insured, they are careful and both drivers were very good guys. One thing to remember, they might not have a driver right around the corner, and they have to plan their delivery route so it makes good business sense.
I will use them next time for sure. Good luck with which ever carrier you use.

Mark

I used them about 5 yrs ago having my 70 Z project shipped from Arizona to Long Island. Was thrilled with the customer service, and the driver was great! I had his cell number and was in contact with him from Pennsylvania to New York. Be careful with brokers. They put the transport out on the teletype, and get the lowest bidder.

Thanks for the replies! I paid for it yesterday morning I was just wondering what to expect as far as timing, but late last night I got the call that my car would begin its journey today! SO quicker than I was originally quoted so far.

Agreed on being careful with brokers... there was a recent thread on a different forum where the transport "company" towed a RWD vehicle from the front leaving the rear wheels on the road. Not only that, they disappeared for about 2 weeks.
Cheapest isn't always best!

Here is another option for you - We have used McCollisters Transport many times with good pricing and good results - Megan is outstanding to deal with and will keep you informed every step of the way. We used them last in October last year to pick up my new Z in Baton Rouge and my buddies in Kansas - they were cost competitive and provided great service and timely delivery.

Key to shipping - Patients! Enclosed transport is expensive and not an exact science - you typically get a 7 day window for pick up and once picked up a estimated delivery date. My car was picked up on Day 3 - the other one in Kansas a day later and was delivered to San Diego 5 days after that.

I have used other carriers and had cars take 15 - 30 + days to arrive and heard every excuse in the book as they lingered. So when you pick your carrier be sure they will deliver on their promises and then be patient while you await arrival!

I use McCollisters Transport for high end computer equipment, millions of dollars worth... they are the only carrier I use.

May not be cars... but just thought I would throw that out there...

I know it's stressful, but these guys are the best. Barrett-Jackson uses them exclusively. They move a lot of high dollar iron.

Absolutely! My employer uses them exclusively as well, thats what made the decision easy, I see the care they provide. Lots of the drivers are car nuts just like me and treat them as their own. Really cool people!
