Rust on steering 'shaft' issue
I am working on my front suspension and noticed quite a bit of rust on the steering shaft. I've looked online to try to find the part so I can replace it but I can't find just that part. I would HATE to replace the entire steering unit! Any suggestions?

It's no big deal and won't hurt anything, not worth replacing. Just sand it down and give it a coat of paint. If you're anal you could have it powdercoated and not deal with it again but that would require removal.

Is it the 'intermediate shaft'? And I'm super anal, lol.

Sheesh, lol. No friggin way could I know that was on my car and not do something about it. Which begs the question: why in the hell would GM put a part on a car that they know rusts with zero outside interference?! My car is garage kept, super clean, and always has been. Now I'm just angry at GM. That's $120 part with no installation or shipping and I bet it's a big ol' B to change. Oh well, at least I'm aware of it now.
