Please, since I am oh so intrigued, show me where I failed to acknowledge anything as it relates to horsepower?

As it stands now, the V6 Mustang it horrible in terms of horsepower. As for 2011, thinks look better.

Absolutely

Was it? Horsepower is certainly involved since it covers the 2011 model year cars in general, but it would seem that the thread title would cover the cars as a whole.

Oh ye keeper of the thread purity flame. You need to look back in this thread and note that the safety debate began when one of your own team broke out the old and extraordinarily tired argument that the Camaro is so heavy because of safety features and the next Mustang will gain 47,000 pounds in order to meet those same safety requirements.

Again, feel free to go back and note that all of these things were covered and, when part of the Camaro faithful didn't like where that was going, we got the above mentioned 'Mustang can't meet safety standards' rant we've heard a thousand times already.

I find it silly myself, but since they obviously believe that said info is true the topic of this thread makes this thread as suitable a place to debate it as any other. If you wish, feel free to inform your fellow Camaro enthusiasts of the same thing that I did and maybe every Mustang vs Camaro thread wont actually devolve into a 'Mustang will weigh five million pounds by 2020' debacle.

Fact. The Mustang pulls higher Gs or the skidpad or the Camaro has more Horsepower are facts.

THe Camaro is the batter looking or the Mustang has an ugly rearend would be opinions (though these in no way reflect my opinions)

The only things the Camaro has over the Mustang is acceleration and less fade prone brakes.

The Mustang had better handling, the interior carries better quality materials (better quality, not design because that is subjective), more interior room, bigger trunk, better steering on center.

and Top End. Basically everything performance besides handling, which again it barely won. But it doesn't matter, the Camaro still had a better Lap Time.

Yes because of more power, and the breaking probably has a small amount to do with it.

Like I said before, Ford chose one direction and GM chose another.

Show me where you did, besides in this post.

Seemed to me that the article was about the new engines. I didn't see anything there about the rest of the car.

The Camaro is heavy? Does that make the GT500 out-and-out fat? And why is the GT500 heavier than the Camaro, when, according to the Mustang guys, adding horsepower to Fords only decreases the weight?

I know I brought up weight and cost as two factors that could change due to the new engine and power. I could care less about who's got the better airbags.

The fact is that the Camaro beat the Mustang in every track challenge so far.

Camaro > Mustang.

As stated, acceleration and fade free brakes, this course probably had less turns and long straightaways, change to a tighter course with less room to accelerate and the result could be wholly different.

Camaro > Mustang.
In 1/4 mile? Sure, and I have only read 1 article about a roadcourse, see above post please. Since the power and brakes are what helped the Camaro win, what about the 11 Track Pack which evens the power and gets Brembos?

How is that opinion? Better power nad brakes IS why the Camaro pulled the quicker time........ It said as much in the article.

Yep that is an opinion, as it that the current car would be quicker with more curves and less straightaways since neither has happened........... yet, but I didn't put FACT in front of it either.
