It finally happened :(... My baby got a boo boo

Well, it finally happend.... a guy pulled into my lane as I was driving by and hit me..... Luckily, it was a low speed and I kinda saw it as he pulled in and managed to swerve a bit limiting damage to my Left Rear Wheel (which i've had for less than a month!! ) No damage to the body or tire but the wheel has a couple chunks missing now. The old mand asked me to follow him to the ATM and pulled out a few hundreds to pay for the new wheel and mounting. Alex, from Need4Speed, if you read this, I'll call you guys in the morning... gonna need a new rear wheel

Oh, I've been there, sucks. Had mine 2 weeks, illegal lane change, bam.

Unless the wheel is bent, they'll repair it..

Feel for ya...

Nice to see that the guy took care of you right then and there.

That saved you a major insurance headache.

Check your rear alignment too before you try high speeds again as a precaution. I'm glad the dude did the right thing by you though.

It still suck what happened but if you really look at it, this could have been a lot worst. I am glad to know that the person who hit you is a stand up guy.

Yeah, the old man was pretty upfront about it and appreciative to not get the insurance companies involved... and as long as my baby is set right, I'm okay with it. I'm appreciative that it was only the wheel and not anything serious for the cars and physically. Glad to know I'm not the only unlucky one..lol

As long as you got enough to cover the repair/replacement of the rim and have the contact info of the other person involved you're good...

Definitely - the wheel bearing and alignment should be checked when the new wheel is put on to make sure no damage was done to the suspension. And when they swap the tire over will be able to see how that looks inside at the bead area (tire looks like it has very minor scuffing).

Two months after I bought my Camaro a guy backed into me. I reversed out of my parking space and as I was putting the car into drive I saw a guy reversing. I tried honking and hurried to get out of my spot but I wasn't quick enough. The rear fender was messed up pretty good and had to get replaced. I wasn't a happy camper.
