Horsepower Therapy
Healing wounds, visible and hidden, one race at a time
MISSION We will use our personal muscle cars and provide horsepower therapy to support, empower, and enrich the lives of America’s veterans, combat-wounded veterans and families of fallen service members to heal from their wounds; both visible and hidden. We provide opportunities for those veterans and their families to experience the fun and fellowship of horsepower therapy and the bond shared by all veterans during track events, car shows, and industry events. GOALS -Provide methods and opportunities for veterans and families to be around high performance cars and experience the benefit of horsepower therapy. -Raise awareness of the visible and invisible wounds that veterans and family members experience every day as a result of their selfless service to our country. -Plan new and support existing events, including track days, drag races and speed-fests, as well as industry trade and car shows that veterans and family members can attend free of cost. -Develop relationships with members of the automobile industry and private citizens who are interested in helping us provide our veterans with horsepower therapy WHAT IS HORSEPOWER THERAPY? Horsepower Therapy (HPT) means different things to different people. Brian and Greg are disabled veterans and career Special Operations Aviators, HPT refers to the benefit that our hobby, building high performance machines, have brought us over the years. We have designed, built, tinkered, raced, wrenched, and motored with friends or just driven off to hear the sound of the road. HPT includes the comfort of sinking into a challenging car project, watching the road unfold ahead, or spending countless hours standing and sitting around with buddies talking through the smallest details of what we have done and dream of doing with horsepower to support our Vets. HPT can be found in the sound of the engine, the vibration of a wide-open throttle, the rush of speed or the smell of a burn out, HPT simply makes you feel good. Veterans, visibly wounded or not, often need a way to transition from military service to civilian life, extremely difficult for many. Typically, the Vet and their families need assistance as well and finding ways to make them feel good can help. HPT is designed to help our fellow veterans through activities that revolve around horsepower and all the comfort, excitement, and healing it can bring. WHY IS HORSEPOWER THERAPY NEEDED? The 2014 Department of Veterans Affairs’ study1 on veteran suicide concluded that an average of 20 veterans a day take their own lives. In 2014, Veterans accounted for 18% of all deaths from suicide among U.S. adults, while only making up 8.5% of the US population. That’s 7,403 veterans annually from all eras of war including WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2012, the Department of Veterans Affairs2 reported 22 veterans lost each day to suicide, equaling a rate of 8,030 veterans annually. While these studies show that we are losing fewer veterans each year, even one suicide is unacceptable. More help is needed. Veterans and military families need events that can help them heal from the invisible wounds of war. We want to be part of the solution. ABOUT US “Horsepower can solve most problems” We are an all volunteer non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status formed by retired military members, family members and civilians for the express purpose of serving our nations wounded combat veterans and the families of fallen service members. All of our events with veterans, combat wounded vets, and families are paid solely by contributions from donors, sponsors, and fundraising events. Every dollar goes toward the expenses related to bringing these deserving heroes and families coming from all over the country together to have the time of their lives…and enjoy some Horsepower Therapy. As highly trained, mission focused special operations aviators piloting the most technologically advanced helicopters in the world with a standard of plus or minus 30 seconds on target, world-wide, mirrors the high standards of the performance and muscle car industry. Thank you all. We are in the infancy stage of this venture but the feedback has been overwhelming to say the least especially here in TX. If any of you Vets are interested in helping us out, let me know. Our vision is to have chapters throughout the U.S.

Thanks all !!
We are looking forward to bring out veterans and getting them involved with some great events. It's a process getting things rolling, but we know we are on the right track.
