Okay, maybe I missed it somewhere in the numerous pictures and comments, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but where is the "hood vent"? I don't see it in any of the "release pics" and no one is talking about it as far as I can tell?
Personally, I think it should be there. The car looks a lot better with it. Is it not going to be available? If not, just add it to the list of changes that while small, still tick me off (gas cap on the wrong side, side vents not cut out, etc). |

I like it better without it, but I think it should still be a part of the top dog Camaro. SS or whatever the 422 hp one is going to be called. I'm hoping a larger ducktail spoiler will be available. In the press release or somewhere else it mentions an available high rise spoiler, but I have no interest in that--just want a larger version of what it currently has, more similar to what the Challenger has or the CTS-V. I don't think it will flow better than what is currently on the car, but the rear bothers me with such a small one.

Oh one question, I know the L99 is designed for an automatic and the LS3 is designed for a manual - but why is the L99 running 22hp less? I just hope they arn't putting in a weaker transmission

This was covered in other threads. I think the the active fuel management and other differences in hardware in the engine make for a few less HP.

Yeah, if it were a matter of tranny duribility, they could've thrown the 6L90 in there, from the CTS-V; if that tranny can take the abuse from the LSA it would be plenty fine in a V8 Camaro.

Z28
Although predictably not present was a Z28 version. It is like deja vu all over again! At the launch of the 1967 Camaro, the debut of the Z was months later.
Only 603 were built that year. We know the rarity of that car! The new Camaro is a winner, hands down, a winner! Thank you GM for making my heart pound and slim off 10 years of this old body of mine. I feel like a kid peeking through the window of the Chevy dealer. I want one-one more (#6) in my life before I die. Make mine a burnt orange with grey stripes and watch this old guy smile! When I do place my order, I am hopeful that the franchisee is totally knowlegeable (for an enthusiast) to order and be aware of all options. Best Ricky |

This is just a random guess...but it feels logical because you're getting 122 more horses. I like many others really hope they can keep it under 30K. I can still see them quite possibly forcing themselves to do it because they won't want to push the niche of muscle car buyers into Ford's column by perpetuating stang sales. On another note I don't like the fact that they got rid of the (seemingly non fucntional) hood vent on the lower end models. I couldn't figure out what made the car looks so different in yesterday's reveal. That's what it was! That delete makes it look a lot less intimidating. i was thinking about going with a v6, for gas mileage..but i work 5 miles from home now...and i definitely want the hood vent, so i guess i'll be ponying up for the V8 so that I can get that. with that comes continuing to have to pay for the premium gas. i can't get over how huge the gas tank is. i've never bought a real muscle car before, i'm use to the little 4 banger econo's that you can 'hook up'...which only have like 10-12 gal tanks. this beast has a tank almost as big as my Tahoe. So it's gonna cost the same to fill up...lol. At least it should last longer...depending on how i drive!
