If I only had enough money for one vehicle and lived in Toronto, a Camaro wouldn't even make my list of vehicles to test drive.

Yep!!!!

Now if OP is an American fan, then hands down, nothing is more American than a V8 Camaro with bald eagle stitching on the head rests

If a vert is important to you, then go with a V6.
Next question. Auto or manual?

Convertible
As they say if the top goes down the fun goes up. Or is it if the top goes down the price goes up.
I never regretted getting the vert, you usually don't end driving over about 65mph with the top down so no need for fast or loud car. Do however get premium sound so you can turn the tunes up.

I personally enjoyed the top down at triple digits.

I've done it several times too on the Mexican Toll Way.

Try them both out..I went for the V6 vert after that. It's just so damn sexy with the top down and more power than you really need. Also check with your insurance company to fund out the diff in cost and having to use premium gas.

This ^^^ ... Go take each for a test drive and then decide.

I got a great deal on a 2013 RS and I've REALLY enjoyed making a few mods to it. I don't know that I would have done that with a V8. If you think you'd enjoy making changes - intake, exhaust, headers (depending on the year), etc, then go with the v6. But if you want ALL the fun you can tolerate right out of the box then you should get a V8. I don't regret my decision AT ALL and I'm looking forward to a round of handling upgrades this summer. I live in Michigan and have a Silverado to drive on the bad days but other than that 'Scarlett' is my daily driver. Hope that helps... Good luck!

I have a Silverado4X4 for my winter car so that's not a issue'
Manual transmission only have no desire to drive another automatic.
My first new car was a 1967 SS 350 Camaro, sure wish I'd never sold that car, been a chevy guy all my life, I was 21.
I'm leaning towards an SS but the vert keeps grabbing me.
I've spent the last two months visiting a friend in Kissimee, FL, home on the 8th so will have to make a choice then.

SS convertible. If you don't you'll always second guess yourself. You can tell now.

Go with the V8 and this is coming from a guy with a V6. I bought mine about a year ago and and just starting to wish I had spend the extra money and got the V8. Not that I regret it cause the 6 is still a great car but there is more to be had in the SS, and the V6 doesn't really get that much better fuel mileage than the SS. Either way a manual transmission should be the only option.
