I'm not as impressed as I hoped I would be. I've been contemplating using it myself but this has me second guessing.

I've used Dr Colorchip a bunch. I think it's a fantastic 95% solution for a majority of chips. It won't make the paint perfect again, but it will take a close look to see that it's not the original paint (what I mean by this is that you can still see the chip if you look really close, but the paint match is perfect). Steps are easy:
1. Clean the area. 2. Spread the paint over the area with a brush (I used plastic gloves and simply wipe on a thin layer, works fine). 3. Let it dry for 5-10 minutes. 4. Take the cloth it came with and put the solution (only use what came with the product, don't use anything else) on the cloth (about a quarter sized spot). 5. Rub back and forth slowly. After a minute or so you'll see the excess paint come off and the only paint left is in the chip. I was skeptical, but after using it once I won't go with anything else. Again, this will NOT make your paint perfect again, but it will make the chip(s) disappear from a normal distance. Great product! |

On a side note......putting rock guards on my front wheel well has helped tremendously in preventing those chips on the rear panels.

Sorry, I know this isn't a post about Rock Guards but thought I'd throw it out there. I think they look great on the car! From ZL1 addons (they say they are for the Z/28).....I got the "LONG" rock guards. Keeps my rear quarters really clean.

Looks better. If it makes it a better 5-10 footer, than I am all on board.

Today I took it out in the sun and compared the side I've done and the one I haven't. Significant difference between the two. Also, I cant' see any chips from 2-3 feet away.

Do you have to remove the front wheels to install the rock guards?
