I went with SCT at first when I just had basic mods and then after the engine got cracked open I went with dyno tuning. |

From what I understand, the ECU has a flash counter built in that cannot be fooled.

This was my understanding as well. It's because of these "loose comments", that I elected to go with JRE. |

I used Phastek for this last tune.... I've done other email tunes on different cars so decided to give it a shot. I bought my X4 from them and they offered a good deal on the email tune. Sent them my stock file and all the mods I'd done to date and within a day or two the custom tune was back and loaded. So far, after a couple months, I'm still fairly happy with it. Once I go deeper into the engine I will probably go with a street tune but for now, I'm good with it. I am curious as to what the difference would be with a DynoSteve tune as I hear he is a genius with them. Maybe in a couple months I'll have him do one for me so I can compare the two.

This is what a custom remote tune is, or should be. Anything less, wound be in my books, called a canned tune. |

However, unless you're going in for a computer related issue or a catastrophic engine failure would they even check the "flash counter"? Maybe we could get DynoSteve on this thread to elaborate on what he's said. I don't want to put words in the mans mouth because he is a great man and does super work. Nevermind, he replied right before I posted this lol |
