Personally no idea here. The factory exhaust is free flowing pretty well as it is so I wouldn't count on much if any. Just more or less making the car sound like what it's supposed to.

well its on the car, pipes and shifter. Wow, hurst did a good job!!!! Flowmaster is just what I wanted!

the exhaust came off in about 20 min and with it off the shifter went in much faster. The boot under the car was a pain to get back on after all was said and done. I never had parts go on that fast!!!!!!

Flowmaster systems available

Hey, I'm the Flowmaster guy - I work for them. We not only have the Flowmaster V8 system that is on the web, but also a system for the V6 and two more systems using our Hushpower mufflers for both V8 and V6 that should be out within about a month. I know I'm biased, but we put the new kit on a guys car last month and I wrote a story on it - and it really sounded good and not too loud. I'll be posting his testimonial video hopefully next week.

So you have to get under the car to install the Hurst shifter? I thought it could be installed from in the cabin only.

Great to hear that you are happy with your Flowmaster catback!!!

I'm sure this has been covered. My dealer is trying to get me to buy the Flomaster kit from the axles back. I'm not 100% sold on these things.
I would like to consider going from headers and everything else...
Does Gm have "approved" exhaust shops to do after market work?
I am worried about my warranty....

Any ideas from you guys who have taken the plunge?

GM's only approved exhaust shop is GM if you catch my drift. GM will not warranty after-market parts no matter where they are installed. If it's not made by GM or at least sold by GM such as the Hurst shifter, etc., it's not going to fall under warranty.

Having said that, I will tell you that I personally and many others here probably have installed many exhaust components on many vehicles without any warranty issues. I've had a couple of issues with exhaust, but nothing that I couldn't take back to my local exhaust shop and get fixed for cheap and quick. Air intakes are more likely to cause an issue due to a rare risk of allowing moisture past the mass air sensor and shutting down your car's computer. However, many many people such as myself install these with no issues also.
It's gonna be hard for your engine to have a problem and the manufacturer point blame to your after engine exhaust components. Your after-market parts have to be proven to have caused the problem at hand. The most I've heard happen from after-market headers is a check engine light being encountered which will have to be resolved by most any shop and/or a tune. Any after-market exhaust components past the headers are not expensive components and yes, you would have to just have any rare issues resolved by the shop who installed them.
I personally plan on intake, headers, x-pipe, mufflers and tips. Entire exhaust being after-market. I've done this on many vehicles without any warranty or major outside of warranty issues. An intake can be somewhat risky, but you need to go with a reputable company who has tested the product thoroughly. Once you get into cams, turbos, superchargers, nitrous, etc. your risk of a voided warranty becomes much greater as those parts with much more power put a lot more stress on the other factory made components.
Just trying to help with my two cents. Anyone else is always free to correct me or elaborate. I don't want to seem like a know-it-all here. I just happen to have some experience with after-market exhaust and had time to answer.
